Anthony Ewing took over the UNE women's basketball program in 2007, and turned the Nor'easters into one of the elite programs in the region. His teams have racked up a 359-128 record (.737) over 18 seasons. From 2008-09 through 2017-18, UNE was one of only five Division III programs to win at least 20 games during each season. Eight of UNE's nine NCAA Championship appearances came under Ewing, including the University's first-ever at-large selection in 2012. The Nor'easters reached the 2nd Round in three consecutive years (2013, 2014, 2015) and hosted the initial two rounds in 2016. UNE has won the Commonwealth Coast Conference title seven times and maintains a 235-45 conference regular-season record. Ewing has been named CCC Coach of the Year six times and received honors from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association and New England Women's Basketball Association. Before UNE, Ewing was Associate Head Coach at Brandeis University for six seasons, where the Judges advanced to the NCAA Championship 2nd Round twice. He previously spent five years as top assistant at his alma mater, Keene State College. The Portland, Maine native earned a bachelor's degree in physical education with a sports management specialization from KSC in 1995.
