Head Coach
In his fifth season in 2025, McNab led the Bulldogs to five wins including one win in conference play. Gracie Murray earned Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 18, while Akari Kishida earned Big South Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 6. Kishida and Shae Hassig would earn All-Conference Honorable Mention honors, while Hassig was also named to the All-Academic Team. Asheville also put together six shutouts on the season, allowing the fewest goals in the Big South Conference this season. In his fourth season at the helm in 2024, McNab led the program to four wins and the program's first berth in the Big South Conference Tournament since 2016, earning the No. 6 seed on the final day of the regular season with a 1-0 win at Charleston Southern. Freshman Mercedes McNabb earned Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 23 after becoming the first Bulldog freshman since 2012 to score a hat trick, while McNabb was later named to the All-Conference Second Team along with team captain Anna Doane. Ava Bjorkman-Tracy was selected as All-Conference Honorable Mention, and also named to the All-Academic Team. Bjorkman-Tracy, Daysha Chaney, Addie Cooper, Doane and Shae Hassig also each earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors. In his third season in 2023, McNab led the program to its first winning season since 2015 as the Bulldogs posted a record of 7-6-4. Elevated to Director of Athletic Communications in September 2023, Miller spearheaded the redesign and rollout of the new-look www.uncabulldogs.com in January 2024. During the 2024 fiscal year, the revamped website saw 1.5 million views and 1.9 million views during the 2025 fiscal year. Miller has also promoted Brendan Herb as Asheville's lone College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® selection in 2023-24 and 2024-25. Miller was also selected as the Athletics representative serving on UNC Asheville's Staff Council. Miller was hired on Nov. 2, 2022 as UNC Asheville's Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. In his role with the Bulldogs, Miller serves as the primary contact for the UNC Asheville women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis and baseball programs. Miller came to Asheville after running the Athletics Media Relations office at Division II Coker University for three-plus years in his second stint at the institution, first as the Director of Athletics Media Relations before being promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics in September 2021. In that time, Miller worked extensively with Coker's 24 athletic programs, overseeing all aspects of publicity and promotion, social media and live streaming, as well as special events and ticketing for Coker's Athletic department. Maddy Ireton joined the UNC Asheville Women's Soccer coaching staff in July 2025. Ireton spent the previous two seasons at Division II Ashland University working with the goalkeepers. The team finished the 2024 season ranked No. 3 in the nation and No. 1 in the Midwest Region with a 17-2-2 record. The coaching staff earned Midwest region Staff of the Year honors, while Ireton coached Mackenzie Simon to two statistical championships in Division II. Simon led all of Division II in both Goals Against Average and save percentage. Prior to her time at Ashland, she spent two seasons as the assistant coach at Kenyon College. Prior to Kenyon, she was on staff at Lake Erie College for two seasons after serving as a graduate assistant for two years. In addition to her college coaching experience, she also worked with ODP Ohio State for seven years. Watt also works with the local Highland Football Club as the Boys Assistant Director, coaching teams from U-10 all the way up to U-19. Prior to joining the staff at HFC, he was an assistant for Asheville City Soccer Club from 2018-22. He also played three years for Asheville City. He was also the Director of Coaching with the Asheville Shield from 2018-22. Originally from England, Watt played at Division II Lees-McRae as a four-year starter. As a senior, he led the nation in assists per game. Watt graduated from Lees-McRae in 2017.
