During her second season on staff in 2025, North Carolina won the National Championship after going undefeated with a record of 22-0. Carolina went 9-0 in ACC play and won the Regular Season and ACC Tournament Championships. No stranger to North Carolina, Boyle spent the previous 11 years as the executive director and agent representative for TeamFirst Soccer Academy (TFSA) based out of Chapel Hill. In this role, she was responsible for scheduling and executing soccer camps across the United States, including travel and budget duties. She also managed relationships between TFSA and corporate partners, such as Nike and Gatorade. Additionally, she served as the talent agent for two-time World Cup champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist Kristine Lilly, who was a four-time national champion with the Carolina women's soccer team. Boyle brings a wealth of experience to the Tar Heels, having previously held roles as a senior account executive at PlayMetrics, a regional sales manager at Sports Endeavors Inc. and a merchandise manager at adidas AMERICA. A two-time graduate of the University of Tennessee, Boyle received her bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in business before earning her master's in sports studies and sports management. Wood joined in a temporary position for the 2025 season before being added to the permanent staff in June of 2025. She primarily works with UNC’s defensive unit. During her first season on staff, North Carolina won the National Championship after going undefeated with a record of 22-0, while going 9-0 in ACC play. The Heels claimed the Regular Season and ACC Tournament Championships. With Wood guiding the defense, UNC led the country in scoring defense (6.9 goals per game), total goals allowed for anyone that played more than 15 games (151) and scoring margin (10.6 gpg). The Heels also ranked third nationally in save percentage (.508) and Betty Nelson topped the goals-against-average list at 7.37. Wood mentored six players to All-America honors, including first-team recognition for Sam Forrest and Brooklyn Walker-Welch, and Forrest was tabbed the IWLCA Defender of the Year. Prior to coming back to Chapel Hill, Wood was an assistant coach at Princeton during the 2023-24 season. The Tigers recorded five top-25 wins and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round. She also helped produce five All-Ivy League selections and the Ivy League Goalkeeper of the Year. In Spring 2023, Wood was head coach of the Issaquah High School girls lacrosse team in Seattle. UNC is just the 12th team to produce an undefeated season in women’s lacrosse history. Carolina went 9-0 in ACC play and won the Regular Season and ACC Tournament Championships. It led the country in both scoring offense (17.5 goals per game) and scoring defense (6.9 goals per game) as well as points per game (26.7) and shots on goal per game (27.9). The Tar Heel coaching staff mentored nine All-Americans, eight All-ACC performers, the Tewaaraton Award winner, the IWLCA Player and Attacker of the Year and the IWLCA Defender of the Year. McCool was a standout midfielder during her Tar Heel career from 2015-18. Vergano capped her four-year career by helping the Tar Heels to an undefeated season and a National Championship in the spring of '25. A native of West Babylon, N.Y., Vergano started her collegiate career at Virginia Tech, where she earned two honorable mention All-America honors, an All-ACC recognition and an ACC All-Freshman nod. She transferred to Chapel Hill for her senior season and was a key cog in the nation's top offense en route to the ACC and national titles. Vergano, who claimed honorable mention All-America recognition as a senior, finished her career with 168 goals and 43 assists for 211 points. She also posted 276 draw controls, 52 groundballs and 20 caused turnovers.

A highly decorated goalkeeper while in college, Giacolone transitioned to the coaching world and has become one of the nation’s top assistants over her six-year career overseeing defenses and goalies. Giacolone came to Chapel Hill from Coastal Carolina, where she served as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for three seasons (2022, ’24 and ’25). While at Coastal, she helped the Chanticleers to the ASUN Championship in 2024 and was a member of the conference’s Coaching Staff of the Year. Giacolone mentored the ASUN Midfielder (Avery McIlwaine) and Freshman (Evelyn Kitchin) of the Year in ‘24, while producing six all-conference defensive honorees over her last two seasons. In between stints at CCU, Giacolone served as the goalies coach and defensive coordinator at Stanford during the 2023 season. While with the Cardinal, she coached Pac-12 Co-Goalkeeper of the Year (Kara Rahaim) and saw three defensive players garner All-Pac-12 first-team honors (Rahaim, Caroline Mondiello, and Ailish Kelly). Giacolone spent the 2020 and ’21 seasons at Furman as the defensive coordinator. Furman swept the SoCon awards in 2021 as Hannah Demis was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Year, Avery Whitehead was tabbed the SoCon Defensive Player of the Year, and Meagan Beal picked up SoCon Freshman of the Year honors.
