Biography

Campbell joins Charlotte after spending three years at Jackson State as an assistant coach under Tomekia Reed. During his time with the Lady Tigers, JSU won three SWAC regular season titles including two tournament championships and trips to the NCAA Tournament. JSU totaled 70 wins during that time including undefeated conference seasons in 2022 and 2024. The 2021-22 campaign saw a 21-game winning streak under Campbell's guidance. He assisted in the recruitment and development of 11 SWAC all-conference selections, highlighted by two defensive player of the year winners, and WNBA draft picks in Ameshya Williams-Holliday (2022) and Angel Jackson (2024). Williams-Holliday and Jackson were the first WNBA selections for both Jackson State and HBCU's. Before JSU, Campbell was the head men's basketball coach at Wiley College. Prior to Wiley, Campbell spent two seasons at Tuskegee University as an assistant coach. He helped the Tigers finish in the top 10 in the nation in scoring defense and the top five in the SIAC in three-pointers made per game, free throw percentage, field goal percentage and three-point percentage. Campbell was responsible for scouting, recruiting, budget, game-planning and late game situations. Before Tuskegee, he spent one season as an assistant coach at Benedict College. His team was second in the conference in scoring defense and fourth in field goal percentage. He helped guide them to the SIAC Semifinals. Campbell spent three seasons at his alma mater Paine
