Head Coach
With 27 years in the Division-I coaching ranks, which includes more than two decades in the ASUN Conference, Bobby Kennen is in his first season at the helm of North Florida in 2025-26. Now in his 17th season at North Florida, Kennen was elevated to Head Coach after the departure of Matthew Driscoll on May 22, 2025. Kennen was previously promoted to Associate Head Coach in August 2012 after he joined the staff in an Assistant Coach role in April 2009. An integral part of the program’s success, Kennen assisted Driscoll to become the winningest coach in North Florida and ASUN Conference history. Kennen served on the staff that helped North Florida secure three ASUN Regular Season Championships in 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2019-20, three appearances in the ASUN Championship title game in 2010-11, 2014-15 and 2016-17 and a ASUN Championship title in 2014-15. He was on staff for the program’s first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2015. In 2024-25, Kennen assisted North Florida to defeat two Power Four opponents on the road in the first week of the season – South Carolina and Georgia Tech. It marked the program’s first-ever wins against a SEC and ACC opponent. Kennen has been part of four Power Four wins – Purdue, Illinois, South Carolina and Georgia Tech – while at North Florida. North Florida received its first-ever votes in the Associated Press (AP) poll with 14 votes on Nov. 11, 2024. Assistant Coach
Bob Marlin was named an assistant coach for North Florida men’s basketball on Aug. 18, 2025. Marlin has amassed 494 Division I wins and coached 823 Division I games in his career. Marlin joined North Florida after he led Louisiana to a 269-198 record in 15 seasons from 2010-25. He is the winningest coach in Sun Belt Conference history with 151 wins. Marlin totaled five postseason appearances, including 2014 and 2023 NCAA Tournament berths. With Marlin at the helm, Louisiana won three Sun Belt Conference titles. The 2018 Sun Belt Coach of the Year, Marlin led Louisiana to its two winningest seasons in program history, including a program-record 27 wins in 2017-18. Marlin eclipsed the 20-win mark five times at Louisiana, posting a 20-win average from 2013-23. Prior to Louisiana, Marlin became the winningest coach in Sam Houston State program history. Marlin compiled a 225-131 record that included winning records in 10 of his 12 seasons. The winningest coach in the Southland Conference during his tenure, Marlin won 20 or more games six times at Sam Houston State. Marlin led Sam Houston State to three Southland Regular Season and two Southland Tournament titles, including appearances to the 2003 and 2010 NCAA Tournament. He was named the Southland Conference Coach of the Year three times and was the Southland Coach of the Decade honoree. Before Sam Houston State, Marlin led Pensacola Junior College to a 123-35 record in five seasons. Marlin guided Pensacola to a 1993 NJCAA Nation

Carter Hendricksen was named an assistant coach for North Florida men’s basketball on Aug. 18, 2025. A three-time All-ASUN selection, Hendricksen was one of the most decorated players in program history from 2018-23. Hendrickesen remains tied for the most games played in program history at 135 and ranks second with 1,651 career points. He is top-five in program history in games played, points, field goals made, three-point field goals, free throws made, rebounds and minutes. Hendricksen was named 2020-21 First Team All-ASUN, 2019-20 and 2022-23 Second Team All-ASUN and the 2020-21 ASUN Scholar Athlete of the Year. Hendricksen is one of five Ospreys to reach 1,500 points and one of four to total 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists in his career. A varsity letterman at Lexington Christian Academy, Hendricksen helped lead the Eagles win back-to-back District 43 Championships and a state title in 2018. Hendricksen is the son of Anita and Mark Hendricksen. He was born on May 2, 2000.
