Silva, a native of Brazil, brings a wealth of experience from the professional level. In 2024, the program ended the season with a 17-13 record—the most wins by the program since 2015—and finished in fifth place in the West Coast Conference standings at 10-8 ... The team earned multiple victories over high-end opponents, including a sweep of LMU at home and a five-set thriller against San Diego, marking the first win over the Toreros in 11 years. Aylen Ayub and Hayden Goodman earned All-WCC Second Team honors and Astrid Puig was named as an honorable mention ... Goodman led the team defensively, while ranking second in the WCC in total blocks (146) and blocks per set (1.46). EDUCATION: FSM - 2006 MBA Project Management - 2008 YEARS AT SAN FRANCISCO: June 2024 - Present CAREER HIGHLIGHTS AT SAN FRANCISCO: 30+ years of volleyball experience from Brazil, including competition at the collegiate and professional levels. Dual expertise as a software engineer and high-level athlete. Pioneered a custom data analytics software for the program in 2024 to collect performance metrics, generate reports, and provide data-driven insights for coaching strategy. Directly contributed to guiding USF to its most successful season since 2008. OTHER CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Hugo's coaching background includes a tenure with the Absolute Volleyball Club, where he developed athletes aged 15 to 17 years old. His success there was marked by leading his teams to qualify for the National Championships, a feat he later replicated in his assistant coaching role at San Francisco.
