Caleb Toshcoff begins his first season on the staff at Southern Miss for the 2025–26 school year, where he oversees the Golden Eagles’ outfielders and catchers. Toshcoff arrives in Hattiesburg following a successful three-year stint at Austin Peay. He served as the program’s graduate assistant during the 2022–23 campaign before being promoted to assistant coach for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. During his tenure with the Governors, he helped lead the team to a school-record 24-game winning streak in 2025 and coached a First Team All-ASUN outfielder and a Third Team All-ASUN catcher. He completed his master’s degree in Health & Human Performance from Austin Peay in 2023. Before his time in Clarksville, Toshcoff spent four years as a student manager at Alabama, where he contributed to two Women’s College World Series appearances (2019, 2021). During that span, the Crimson Tide reached the national semifinals twice, captured the 2019 SEC regular-season championship, and won the 2021 SEC Tournament title. A native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Toshcoff earned his bachelor’s degree in Human Performance & Exercise Science from Alabama in 2022.

Peyton Elzey begins her first season as an assistant coach at Southern Miss during the 2025–26 school year. Elzey joins the Golden Eagles after a collegiate career that spanned stops at Kennesaw State and in the MAAC. During her final playing season in 2023, Elzey earned NFCA All-America Scholar honors while also being named to the MAAC All-Academic Team and MAAC Academic Honor Roll. She did not see game action due to injury. In 2022, Elzey was recognized as an NFCA Scholar All-America selection and earned MAAC All-Academic Team and Academic Honor Roll distinction, but did not compete due to NCAA transfer rules. Prior to that, Elzey competed at Kennesaw State, where she appeared in 21 games with 11 starts during the 2021 season. She posted a 2-8 record with a 4.22 ERA across 66.1 innings, recording 17 strikeouts. She tossed a complete game against Liberty (5/1) and recorded a season-high three strikeouts against Liberty (4/3), allowing just one run on two hits over 5.1 innings. In the shortened 2020 season, Elzey made eight appearances with five starts, going 3-0 with a 4.50 ERA. She threw 23.1 innings, striking out 17 while issuing just four walks. She opened the season with a five-inning shutout performance against Jacksonville State (2/9) and added strong outings against Eastern Illinois (2/15) and Penn State (3/1). Presleigh Pilon begins her first season as Director of Player Development at Southern Miss during the 2025–26 school year. Pilon joins the Golden Eagles following a successful collegiate playing career that included stops at LSU and Baylor. During the 2024 season, Pilon appeared in and started all 59 games, hitting .234 with 40 hits, five doubles, and one home run while recording 20 RBIs. She began the season at second base before moving to shortstop, helping her team turn 24 double plays. She tied a career-high with three hits against BYU, hit her first collegiate home run in that series, and set a career-high with six assists against Houston. She also ranked No. 74 nationally in toughest to strike out. In 2023, Pilon was one of two players to start all 58 games, tallying 40 hits and 22 RBIs. She contributed to a single-season program record of 31 double plays turned while adding 15 stolen bases and six sacrifice hits. She set single-game career highs in hits (3), RBIs (3), stolen bases (2), putouts (5), and assists (5). Pilon began her collegiate career at LSU, where she made nine appearances with four starts during the 2022 season. She recorded nine assists and seven putouts without committing an error.
