Head Coach

Cornerbacks Coach
Aaron Foster is in his first season as cornerbacks at Toledo after spending the past two seasons at UTEP as the Miners’ cornerbacks coach and passing game coordinator. UTEP’s pass defense came up with solid performances under Foster’s leadership, totaling 16 interceptions and 77 pass breakups over the past two seasons. In 2024, the Miners allowed a season-low 115 passing yards against Southern Utah and yielded just 132 passing yards at Colorado State. The “Orange Swarm” defense picked off four FIU passes, helping to lead the Miners to their first win of the season. It was the most interceptions by a UTEP defense since 2011 and the most picked off in the Sun Bowl since 2008. UTEP allowed only 183 passing yards in its double overtime win over Kennesaw State. Prior to his stint at UTEP, Foster was the cornerbacks coach/pass game coordinator at Austin Peay in 2023. The Governors finished 9-3 overall and 6-0 in United Athletic Conference action, while claiming a UAC Championship and a FCS playoff bid. Redshirt sophomore CB Jevon Mclver Jr. ranked 12th in FCS and led the UAC with 13 total passes defended (12 breakups) during the 2023 season. Redshirt senior CB Cedarius Doss was also named to the all-conference second team after leading APU and ranking second in the UAC with three interceptions. Reisert, a Cincinnati native, starred at quarterback at Ohio Dominican University, earning two consecutive NAIA All-America honors and the prestigious NAIA National Player of the Year award in 2007. He was inducted into the Ohio Dominican Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019. Reisert’s coaching journey features significant success across the state of Ohio. At Tiffin, he compiled an impressive record of 40–11 (.784 winning percentage), 32-4 (.889) in conference play, secured three Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships (2019, 2020 and 2023)., and three GMAC Coach of the Year honors in each of those seasons. Assistant Director of SASS/Director of Football Advising
Duane Welch was hired as the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) at the University of Toledo in July of 2024. Welch currently serves as the advisor for the offense of the football program, and oversees the women's softball and men's tennis programs. He coordinates the learning assistance program for all UT student-athletes, and also manages the SASS office's Rocket Tutorial program, providing content tutors and academic coaching for extra resources for student-athletes. Welch is a two-time graduate of the University of Toledo and has been a finalist for the Outstanding Advisor Award. When not working, Welch spends most of his time with his family, traveling the world, and watching Cleveland Browns, Cavs, and Guardian games. Welch is a native of Barberton, Ohio. Long began his coaching career with three separate graduate assistant coaching assignments, including his first as a special teams assistant at The Citadel for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He also spent one season at the University of the South (2016) and was a defensive line assistant at NC State in 2017. Special Teams Coordinator

Ulrich served three seasons as the co-defensive coordinator at NCAA Division II powerhouse Winona State, helping lead one of the nation’s top rush defenses. In 2021, the Warriors gave up just 97.4 yards per game to opponents, a mark that ranked 17th in the NCAA. Winona State held opponents to 100 rushing yards or less 16 times from 2018-21, including six times across Ulrich’s final season on the WSU sidelines.
