Dave Moore

Biography

Dave Moore came to West Georgia after 11 years as an assistant coach at St. Bonaventure University in Allegany, N.Y., bringing 20 years of experience as an assistant coach in NCAA Divisions I, II and III basketball. At St. Bonaventure, in his last five years the Bonnies won at least 18 games in each season, culminating with a school-record 26 wins in 2017-18, which included a victory over UCLA in the First Four of the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Moore was credited as a passionate and detail-oriented assistant responsible for player development and opponent scouting. He helped guide 24 players to sign professional contracts, including Andrew Nicholson, the 19th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Prior to St. Bonaventure, Moore spent the 2006-07 season as an assistant at Division I Robert Morris University and two seasons from 2000-02 at Christian Brothers University. His first collegiate coaching experience came at his alma mater, Bethel College, in 1997-98. As a player, Moore earned a full athletic scholarship to Bethel, where he played for four years, was named a Scholar-Athlete by the TranSouth Conference in 1996-97, served as team captain, and led the team in assists. He graduated from Bethel in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in history and received his master's degree in education from Christian Brothers University in 2002.
