Vermont State University Castleton Women's Ice Hockey

Tim McAuliffe enters his sixth season as the head coach of Spartan women's hockey in the 2025-26 campaign. A 2013 graduate of Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont, McAuliffe was a four-year letter-winner for the Purple Knights, captaining the team for two seasons and appearing in 82 games with 20 career points. He was a three-time member of the ECAC East All-Academic Team and four-time Dean's List honoree. Following graduation, McAuliffe coached at the junior level as an assistant coach for the East Coast Wizards of the Eastern Hockey League at the Junior "A" level, and most recently served as an assistant coach for the Rutland High School boys ice hockey program. In his five seasons leading Castleton women's hockey, McAuliffe has guided the Spartans to multiple NEHC Tournament appearances and earned NEHC Coach of the Year honors in the 2022-23 season. His teams have produced multiple All-Conference selections and NEHWA All-Star Team members. McAuliffe comes from a strong hockey background, with his father Joe having played two years for Merrimack and his sister being a four-year standout at Harvard, scoring over 100 points while captaining the team her senior year. He resides in Mendon with his wife, Ali.
