He is the lead coach for uneven bars and also oversees skill selection and routine construction for all four events. Doak is responsible for leading the Mountaineers’ recruiting efforts. Since Doak joined the staff in 2009, WVU has made 14 NCAA Regional Championship appearances, earned one conference title and compiled an overall record of 207-159-1 (.583). The 2025 season saw an incredible rise for WVU gymnastics, as the Mountaineers jumped 18 spots in the national rankings. The squad finished No. 33 in the Road to Nationals rankings after starting at No. 51. Despite a slow start, WVU posted three 196.0+ scores and qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships with a 195.855 National Qualifying Score. Individually, senior Anna Leigh (floor) and freshmen Karleigh DiCello (vault, beam) and Sophia Rice (vault) also qualified as individual event specialists. Rice highlighted the year with All-Big 12 honors on floor and WVU’s first 9.975 on vault since 2005. Leigh made the All-Big 12 Floor Team, while DiCello
