Dr. Lawless is in his third season assisting Ashland University's men's soccer program. He previously served as Shenandoah's head men's soccer coach from 2006-10 and was head men's soccer coach at Kenyon College from 1998-2004, earning North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2001. At Heidelberg from 1991-97, he was the head women's soccer coach and was named Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year twice, as well as Ohio Coach of the Year in 1995. Dr. Lawless also served as an assistant women's soccer coach at Shenandoah from 2012-22.

Pedro Faria begins his stint as Eagle men's soccer graduate assistant coach in 2025 after playing for Ashland University. As a senior in 2024, he led AU with 17 points (seven goals, three assists) and had two game-winning goals, earning second-team United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region and second-team All-Great Midwest Athletic Conference honors. In his first season with the program, he recorded seven goals and an assist for 15 points over 19 games (16 starts) and earned second-team All-Great Midwest honors. He was also named 2023-24 Great Midwest Academic All-Conference. Before joining Ashland, Faria played two seasons at Kansas City Kansas Community College (2021-2022), where he was named East Division Player of the Year in 2022 and earned second-team all-region and first-team all-conference honors.
