Baylor University Softball

Glenn Moore is in his 26th season as head coach at Baylor and his 29th full season as a collegiate softball head coach. Moore, who was selected to guide the Bears' program in June 2000, begins the 2025 season with a career record of 1081-535, including an 942-493 record at Baylor. His teams have had a winning record in all but one season of his Division I coaching career and he is Baylor Athletics' active all-time wins leader across all sports. He has progressed up the active NCAA coaching ranks, now ranking No. 10 in total victories among active Division I head coaches. During Moore's tenure, the Bears have received 18 CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, 16 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Honors and 81 NFCA All-Region honors. In addition, Baylor players have earned 98 all-conference selections during his tenure, while numerous Bears have earned academic all-conference honors.

Britni Sneed Newman is in her 23rd season as Baylor's pitching coach. She joined the Baylor staff in 2004 after spending one season as a student assistant at LSU. Newman has developed some of the most prolific pitchers in Baylor history, several of which have been among the nation's best. Newman was inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in the class of 2022, for her three-time All-American honors and illustrious career pitching at LSU. In her 22nd season at Baylor, Newman oversaw a steady and productive pitching staff during the 2025 campaign, led by All-Big 12 second team selection Lillie Walker. Walker anchored the Bears' rotation with a 2.51 ERA, ranking among the top 10 in the conference, while logging 159 innings pitched and 88 strikeouts, earning all-region recognition for her performance. Newman also guided key contributions from Sadie Ross, who posted a 3.63 ERA across 30 appearances, and Lexie Warncke, who compiled a 7–7 record in 40.2 innings of work.

Meagan Diaz is in her sixth season as an assistant coach for Baylor softball. Diaz was promoted during the summer of 2023 from volunteer assistant to assistant coach of the Baylor softball program. She primarily works with the defense and assists with refining hitting techniques. In 2025, Coach Diaz continued to make a significant impact on the defensive side of the game, helping guide a Bears unit that ranked among the program's best in key defensive metrics, turning 28 double plays, tied for the second-most in school history. Individually, Presleigh Pilon earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors for her golve work on the diamond. During the 2024 season, Diaz worked primarily with the defense, helping the team back to its first Super Regional appearance since 2017. Diaz's defense turned 24 double plays as a team and held opponents two one run or less in 22 games throughout the season. She helped lead the 2023 squad back to the NCAA postseason appearance with a 40-18 record.

Steve "Hoot" Johnigan is in his sixth season as a coach with the Baylor softball program. Johnigan, who served as an assistant coach on Baylor's baseball team for 20 years, spent five years as Associate Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations in addition to serving as the color analyst for Baylor baseball broadcasts from 2016-2021. Johnigan is no stranger to the softball program as he filled in as the hitting coach during the 2019 season when associate head coach Mark Lumley suffered a hip injury. In 2025, Hoot played a key role in Baylor's offensive production and outfield play, highlighted by the historic season of Shaylon Govan. Under Johnigan's guidance, Govan became just the second three-time All-American in program history, earning Big 12 batting champion and Scholar Athlete of the Year honors while setting a Baylor single-season record with a .587 on-base percentage. Govan closed her career as the program's all-time leader in walks (143) and on-base percentage (.558).
