Head Women's Hockey Coach
Brian Carlson enters his 16th season as head coach of the women's hockey program. He is Bethel's all-time leader in wins with a career record of 171-166-33 (.507). Carlson was named the 2015-16 MIAC Women's Hockey Coach of the Year and has led the Royals to 10 MIAC Playoff appearances, including three MIAC championship final appearances in 2010-11, 2014-15, and 2015-16. Under his leadership, the team was MIAC Conference Co-Regular Season Champions in 2015-16. Prior to his tenure at Bethel, Carlson served as an assistant women's hockey coach from 2006-2010. He has also coached youth hockey, serving as head coach of Roseville U12A Girls (2001-2003, leading the team to a state championship), Roseville A PeeWees (1997-1999), and Roseville A Squirts (1995-1997). Carlson is from Shoreview, Minnesota and lives in Roseville with his wife Sue. He has two grown children: Neal, a 2007 Bethel graduate and two-time MIAC All-Conference player and team captain, and Anna, a 2013 Bethel graduate and four-time MIAC All-Conference player and 2012 All-American.
