Davis/Emma Family Assistant Coaching Chair for Sailing
Cameron Giblin joined the Brown sailing staff as the Davis Emma Assistant Coach Chair for sailing in August 2024. Cameron is a highly accomplished sailor from Monmouth Beach, New Jersey and graduated with a Finance degree from Tulane University’s A.B Freeman School of Business. Cameron has made significant strides in the sailing world at the youth and collegiate level. Cameron’s sailing journey began at a young age, competing in various junior sailing championships in the Optimist, I420 and ILCA 6 classes. Representing his country at youth events and competing in national championships lead to a successful high school career. As a Co-Captain and founder of his high school team, they became a top team in the country and Giblin also won the ISSA Singlehanded Nationals in 2019. At Tulane University, Cameron became a standout performer. He was honored as a two time ICSA All-American for coed skipper and was a key member and Captain of the 2022 ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship team winning the low point A division title. His contributions helped Tulane achieve impressive finishes in numerous regattas across all fields of college sailing. Cameron has continued to excel in recent competitions. He won the 2024 Melges 15 Winter Series as a crew, showcasing his consistency and adaptability in various sailing conditions and positions. Emily Tessier, RDN, LDN
Emily Tessier, RDN, LDN completed her bachelor's degree in Dietetics at the University of Delaware, where she subsequently completed her dietetic internship after graduation. In addition, she holds a Sports Nutrition Certificate from the University of Saint Joseph. After completing her dietetic internship, Emily started her career at St. Luke's Hospital through Southcoast Health where she obtained extensive clinical experience in the acute care setting. During her time at Southcoast Health, she also worked as an Outpatient Dietitian and at Southcoast Health Oncology Center. Emily has also worked as a staff dietitian at From the Heart Nutrition, a private practice specializing in eating disorders and Intuitive Eating in Providence. Additionally, Emily has worked as a sports dietitian for Flynutrition, a virtual sports nutrition private practice providing both 1:1 and group sports nutrition counseling. Currently, Emily serves as the sports dietitian for Brown University Athletics. In addition to her role as a sports dietitian, Emily is a lifelong athlete herself. After spending 10 years during childhood as a competitive softball player and another decade as a triathlete, Emily now trains and competes as a trail and ultramarathoner. Emily was born and raised in Middletown, RI. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with her dog, running through the local New England trails, and serving Middletown as a Town Councilor, where she actively work

Emma Montgomery joined the Brown sailing staff as an assistant coach in 2023-24. Montgomery sailed for Brown from 2018-2022. While three seasons were impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Montgomery was part of six top-five national championship teams throughout her time at Brown. Competing as a crew she was part of the teams placing first at the 2019 ICSA Women's National Championship in Newport, RI, first at the 2019 ICSA Women's Team Race National Invitational at MIT, fourth at the 2021 ICSA Women's National Championship in Annapolis, MD, fourth at 2022 ICSA Women's Team Race National Championship at Brown, third at 2022 ICSA Open Dinghy National Championship at Tulane, and fifth at the 2022 ICSA Women's National Championship at Tulane. In her senior season of 2021-2022, Montgomery received honors as an All-American Honorable Mention Crew, First-Team All-Ivy, Crew of the 2022 Ivy League Championship, Finalist for New England Women's Crew of the Year, All-New England Women's Crew, Academic All-Ivy. Montgomery was also an ICSA All-Academic Team selection from 2020-2022. Her leadership experience on the Brown Sailing team includes holding positions as Team Captain (2021), Crew Captain (2020) and Freshman Captain (2019). In 2021, Emma received the Fredrick H. Giana Cappelli
Giana Cappelli first joined the Brown University Athletic Communications team in August 2023 as an intern, and has since become an Athletic Communications Officer in July 2024. During her time as an intern, Cappelli served as the primary contact for the sailing and tennis teams, as well as a secondary contact for football. She also assisted in coverage of men's and women's ice hockey. Prior to Brown, Giana spent a year interning with Girls Club as a Media Coordinator. Mike Pimentel
Michael Pimentel began his career at Brown in October of 2014 as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. He currently works with the Women's Soccer, Women's Ice Hockey, Co-ed Sailing, and Men's Tennis programs. In his time on College Hill, he has also worked with Men's Swimming & Diving, Women's Swim & Diving, Men's Water Polo, Women's Water Polo, Men's Ice Hockey, Men's Soccer, Men's Squash, Women's Squash, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Crew, Women's Crew, and Men's Lacrosse. Prior to Brown, he completed internships with University of Rhode Island (2010), University of South Carolina Football (2012), and Brown University (2011 & 13). After completion of his internship at Brown University, Mike was hired as a part-time assistant (2013). Mike was then elevated to full-time assistant in October of 2014. Upon his hire, Mike was able to be a part of multiple NCAA tournament appearances with Women's Soccer, Men's Water Polo, Men's Lacrosse, and Women's Crew. In the Fall of 2022, Mike was promoted to Fitness Ambassador to increase readiness, health & wellness, and the performance of the Brown University community through sleep, nutrition, mental health and exercise enhancement. Outside of Brown University, Mike is a consultant for 02x Human Performance. A company that educates First Responders (Police, Firefighters, and Military) how to manage stress through functional training, nutrition, and recovery.
