Head Swim Coach
Jim Bossert rejoined the Lancers as head coach of the men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs ahead of the 2024 season. Bossert’s debut season was one to remember as he was named the WAC Coach of the Year. Bossert is a CBU grad, earning his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science in May of 2016. During his time away from the Lancers, Bossert gained Division I coaching experience, starting with a season in Tuscaloosa with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Following his time in the SEC, Bossert began his return west with a stint at the University of Wyoming. With Wyoming, Bossert coached the spring group. In 2021, the men’s team finished in the top three at the WAC Championships, while the women’s team placed top four at the Mountain West Conference Championship. The season before, Bossert guided the women’s team to a top three Mountain West finish, and he also coached a male athlete that broke the 20 second barrier in the 50 yard freestyle. Wyoming won its first conference championship in 59 years during Bossert’s first season. After Wyoming, Bossert returned to California to be an assistant coach for the Fresno State Bulldogs. Bossert swam collegiately at NCAA Division III Grove City College in Grove City, PA, before joining the Lancers as a graduate student in 2015. He earned his Bachelor’s Degre in Accounting from Grove City College in May 2025.

Director of Aquatics and Age Group Programs and Assistant Swim Coach
Kevin Callister joined California Baptist University as the Aquatics Director and Assistant Swim Coach in January 2019. Prior to returning to CBU, Callister worked for the city of Moreno Valley in the Community Services Department for 12 years. Most recently, he served as Moreno Valley's Community Services Supervisor and oversaw the daily aspects of city-wide special events, sports programming, facility reservations, senior services, recreation services as well as customer service representatives. His other previous experience includes operating a local aquatic center in his home town, coaching both club and high school water polo and swim teams and officiating water polo. Callister graduated with a Degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology from CBU in 2006. He was an All-American swimmer for the Lancers in 2004, 2005 and 2006, and also served as the men's water polo captain in 2005. He is married to Lindsey Callister, who he met at CBU. They have three children and live in Riverside.

Associate Head Swim Coach
An internationally respected swimming coach, Lisa Siregar was named California Baptist University assistant coach for Rick Rowland with CBU swimming in 2003. She has also served as the National Team coach for her native Indonesia since 1985 and has led the team to such events as the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics, as well as the World Games, University Games and Asian Games. Siregar serves as the Secretary General for the Asian Swimming Federation, and is a Vice President/Chairman of Swimming Development for Indonesia. She was a swimmer on the Indonesian National Team from 1966-73 when Indonesia won the Asian Swimming Championships in the 70s. She set several Indonesian swimming records that have since been broken. Siregar earned a bachelor’s degree in international business from Cal State L.A. in 1981 and a master’s degree in business administration from Northrop in 1983. She and her husband, Chris, have three children (Rhesa, Chrisilla and Rhesi).

Senior Advisor to the Head Coach
The architect behind all of California Baptist University’s success in aquatics, Rick Rowland started the swimming and water polo programs in 1999-2000 and is now entering his 21st season as head coach of both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. Rowland also led CBU men’s water polo team through its first 16 years of existence (1999-2015) and women's water polo through its first eight seasons (2000-2007). In swimming, both Rowland's men's and women's swim and dive teams have combined for nine NAIA National Championships over the course of his tenure with the men winning four (2006-09) and the women winning five (2005-08, 2011). Since transitioning to NCAA Division II in 2013-14, nine of Rowland's 10 squads have completed top-14 finishes in their division. The men accomplished the program's top finish in the NCAA as national runners-up in Division II in 2018. CBU has produced four individual NCAA champions, with three on the women's side. Buse Topcu won the 500-yard freestyle (4:47.14), Christie Halverson won the 1000 free (9:00.51.96) in 2016 and Mary Hanson won the school’s first individual NCAA champion in the 100 backstroke (52.45) in 2014. Scott Tolman won the first NCAA title for the men in the 200 breast (1:55.09). Rowland was named 2001 NAIA Coach of the Year as both teams placed second. He also earned women's Coach of the Year honors in 2006 and 2011, and was named Men's Coach of the Year in 2008. He was also named the College Swimming Coaches Association
