Assistant Wrestling Coach
Mark Munoz joined Derek Moore's staff in September of 2024. In his first season with the Lancers, Coach Munoz and the Lancers had six dual wins. The program earned three ranked wins against #13 West Virginia, #20 Cal Poly, and #24 CSU Bakersfield. Hunter Leake became the first two-time NCAA Qualifier and BIG 12 Placer in program history. Munoz, a Vallejo, CA native, began his coaching career at UC Davis where he spent five years with the Aggies. During his time in Davis, Munoz helped coach and develop 15 NCAA qualifiers and the university's first NCAA DI National Champion in current CBU Head Coach Derek Moore. After UC Davis, Munoz was introduced to Mixed Martial Arts by former Aggie wrestler and UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber. Munoz won his first UFC fight in 2007 and then moved to Southern California where he opened Reign Training Center. Munoz trained and taught top fighters such as Tito Ortiz, Anderson Silva, Fabricio Werdum, and Ashlee Evans-Smith. After a seven-year UFC career in which he was ranked as high as #3 in the world, rankings Munoz would compete in his final fight at the UFC Fight Night 66 in his home country of the Philippines. Munoz has also helped coach at the high school level, coaching his son at Trabuco Hills High School. Munoz helped THHS earn its first-ever state placer and led them to the CIF Team Championships in 2015. Noah Hardy joined Derek Moore's staff in September of 2024. In his first season with the Lancers, Hardy and the Lancers had six dual wins. The program earned three ranked wins against #13 West Virginia, #20 Cal Poly, and #24 CSU Bakersfield. Hunter Leake became the first two-time NCAA Qualifier and BIG 12 Placer in program history. Hardy coached at Bellarmine from 2022-2024 and during that time helped the Knights to a 26-9 dual record, finishing fourth in the Southern Conference in both seasons. Hardy helped coach the Knights to the NWCA National Dual Championship in 2023 and 2024 and helped them become NWCA Team National Champions with ten individual champions over two seasons. During Coach Hardy's tenure at Bellarmine, he helped coach five SoCon Commissioner's Medal Award Winners, 15 SoCon honor roll members, three SoCon All-Freshman, two SoCon Academic All-Conference winners, and two NWCA 2024 Scholar All-Americans. At the high school level, Hardy competed at Peter's Township HS and then wrestles at DIII Concordia Wisconsin, where he competed in weight classes 165-197 during his time there. Hardy was a four-year letterwinner, a three-year starter, was team captain his senior year, and was named to the honor roll twice. Most recently, Hardy spent the summer of 2024 assisting the United Olympic Wrestling Team in its preparation for the Paris Olympics at the Olympic Training Center and Team Camp.
