Calvin University Volleyball

Dr. Amber Warners is in her 24th year as head Calvin women's volleyball coach and serves as associate athletics director and professor of kinesiology at Calvin. She has compiled an overall record of 677-116 (.854 winning percentage) ranking second amongst all active Division III head coaches. Under her leadership at Calvin, she has a record of 624-97 (.865) with three national championships (2010, 2013, 2016) and 13 campaigns with 30+ wins. A four-time AVCA Division III National Coach of the Year (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014), she is tied for second on the all-time list. She has been named AVCA Division III Great Lakes Coach of the Year seven times and coached seven AVCA Division III Players of the Year. Warners led Calvin to 19 NCAA Tournament appearances, 15 MIAA Tournament titles, and 14 MIAA regular season titles with a remarkable 287-21 MIAA record (.932). Previously, she served as interim head coach at Hope College in 1994 (21-11 record) and coached Calvin's softball team for eight years, leading the Knights to the NCAA III Softball World Series in 1997. A 1990 Calvin graduate, Warners was a two-sport standout in volleyball and softball, earning a master's degree in sports psychology from Michigan State in 1996 and a Ph.D. from Michigan State.

Named as Calvin assistant coach for women's volleyball before the start of the 2025 season. Four-year member of the Calvin women's volleyball program from 2021-24. Started for two seasons as an outside hitter and finished her career with 480 kills and 653 digs. Named All-MIAA First Team and AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention following her senior season in 2024 when she averaged 2.98 kills and 3.5 digs per set. Part of MIAA Regular Season and MIAA Tournament championship team in 2022 and helped Calvin to the NCAA III Tournament appearances in 2021, 22 and 23. Graduated from Calvin in 2025.

Started as an assistant volleyball coach at Calvin in 2019. Before Calvin, Clark spent one season as the assistant coach at Holland Christian High School as well

Began as an assistant coach at Calvin in 2022. Prior to Calvin she coached club for many years, and was an assistant varsity coach at Grand Rapids Christian for 8 years, winning three consecutive State Championships. Attended Seton Hall University and was a 4-year starter as a middle, leading the Big East Conference in blocks per set. Graduated in 2013 with a degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Psychology. Lives in Grand Rapids with her husband Dan and their three children, Bellamy, Jonah and Ezra.

Taylor Roede was named as Calvin women's volleyball assistant coach before the start of the 2025 season. She played volleyball at Wayne State University from 2018-21, where she was a four-year starting outside hitter and three-time All-GLIAC honoree. She finished her career with 937 kills, 903 digs and 150 blocks, and helped WSU to its first NCAA II Tournament appearance since 1994. A four-time GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team member and two-time Deans' Award recipient from the College of Nursing, Roede graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2022. She served as an NCAA SAAC President for three years and helped lead the WSU Fellowship of Christian Athletes bible study on campus. Roede works as a school nurse in addition to her role with Calvin volleyball and is married to Nate Roede, who serves as an assistant coach for Calvin's baseball program.
