Riley Taylor

Biography

Riley Taylor finished her first season as an assistant coach in 2025. Taylor worked with the setters during her first year in Charleston, helping Lauren Dow earn All-CAA Second Team honors. Dow finished the year with 981 assists, 9.00 assists per set and 15 double-doubles. Taylor spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at Belmont University, primarily working with the setters. In 2023, Taylor helped Belmont earn its first trip to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Tournament since joining the conference, winning its first postseason contest since 2015. During the campaign, the Bruins also collected their first Power 5 victory since 2014, defeating Syracuse in straight sets. "I am beyond excited to join Charleston volleyball to work with Jason and the rest of the staff," said Taylor. "I cannot wait to be a part of this program and continue to maintain the championship culture that's been built here." Taylor began her coaching career as a volunteer assistant in 2020 following her playing career at her alma mater, Eastern Michigan. A four-year starter with the Eagles from 2016-19, Taylor ranks eighth all-time in Eastern Michigan history in career assists, tenth in career service aces and was a five-time Mid-American Conference (MAC) setter of the week. Taylor played a key role in the Eagles' run to a 2018 MAC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth.
