Sammy McCorkle, who had been on Buddy Teevens’ staff since the head coach’s return to Hanover in 2005, was filling in as the interim head coach for the 2023 season following Teevens’ bicycle accident in March of 2023 and subsequent passing on Sept. 19. On Oct. 19 of 2023, McCorkle had the interim tag removed as he became the Robert L. Blackman Head Football Coach. McCorkle enters his third season in 2025. In 2024, the Big Green won their second straight Ivy League Championship, sharing the title with Columbia and Harvard, and fourth in the last five seasons. Dartmouth began the season 6-0, beginning with a convincing 45-13 win over Fordham then five straight wins by four points or fewer. In that stretch was a historic comeback win at Yale. Despite trailing 30-7 late in the third quarter and 37-16 midway through the fourth, the Big Green scored touchdowns with 7:30, 6:34 and 1:22 remaining in regulation before topping Yale in overtime, 44-43. In the season finale, Dartmouth dominated Brown, 56-28, to help earn a share of the championship and up the program’s leading Ivy League Championship total to 22. The Big Green had 15 All-Ivy honorees in 2024, including Defensive Player of the Year Ejike Adele and Special Teams Player of the Year Owen Zalc. Ben came to Dartmouth from Troy University in Alabama, where he received his Master of Science in Sports and Fitness Management in the spring of 2011. In the summer of 2019 he was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer/Associate Director of Sports Medicine. Prior to coming to Dartmouth, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences-Athletic Training in 2009 at the University of Central Florida. Ben is responsible for the coverage of the football team. His professional interests include concussion evaluation and management, as well as sport specific rehabilitation and functional testing. Outside of work, Ben enjoys reading, spending time outdoors and being with his wife, Hilary and their two sons. Conor McNally has been named the Director of Football Performance for the Dartmouth football program. McNally comes to Hanover from Kansas where he has served as Assistant Sports Performance Coach and Director of Sports Science. Most recently, at the Big 12's University of Kansas, McNally played a key role in the athletic development and performance readiness of all football student-athletes. He led the training programs for all incoming players while overseeing the Sports Science program, integrating advanced performance technology and systems such as GPS, force plates, velocity-based training, strength testing and heart rate monitoring. Prior to Kansas, McNally was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for football at the University of Buffalo. In addition to his work in the weight room, he led a data-driven athlete monitoring program to track and report player workloads for coaches and staff, while also supporting the team's nutrition program, fueling station and return-to-play process for injured athletes. McNally began his career with Wofford College as assistant strength and conditioning coach before serving as strength and conditioning intern with the NFL's Buffalo Bills. With the Bills, he assisted in all facets of the offseason strength and conditioning program while aiding in capturing key data from strength testing, velocity-based training and GPS player tracking. Curt Oberg played with Buddy Teevens on the Big Green varsity for two seasons, serving as the team captain during his senior year in 1977. A first-team All-Ivy League running back that year, Oberg led Dartmouth with 620 rushing yards and five touchdowns, plus caught 10 passes for 78 yards. Oberg provides support during practices, which includes running the MVP tackling dummies. He also oversees the alumni initiative, Dartmouth Football Connect, giving football student-athletes and mentors an opportunity to engage with each other using career connections as the center of their relationship.

Recruiting area: Indiana, Michigan, New England, New York, Canada and International A successful head and assistant coach at the high school ranks for 15 years, O’Dea joined the Big Green staff prior to the 2015 season running quality control for the special teams. The following year, O’Dea was promoted to assistant coach with direct responsibility of the nickelbacks with Lucas Bavaro All-Ivy League honorable mention. After another season on defense, he shifted to the offensive side, coaching the running backs in 2018 as Dartmouth led the league and ranked 11th nationally in rushing offense. The Big Green’s 2,547 yards on the ground were their most in nearly 50 years, and Rashaad Cooper garnered honorable mention honors from the league office while averaging 6.6 yards per carry, the second highest mark in program history. In both 2019 and 2021, Dartmouth led the conference in rushing while securing its 19th and 20th conference crowns. O’Dea helped orchestrate major improvements in the programs at three different prep schools — The Hun School of Princeton, Cheshire Academy and The Lawrenceville School. His teams produced over 150 student-athletes into college football while being successful on the field, winning a total of seven championships. O’Dea has coached all of the aspects of his teams, including coordinating the offense and special teams. He is married to Carol Lynn, a neonatologist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and they have two sons, Patrick and Brendan.

Dartmouth Athletics has announced the appointment of Jerry Hubshman Jr. as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development, where he will lead all fundraising and stewardship efforts supporting the Big Green's 35 varsity programs, 36 club sports and intramurals. Hubshman is coming from Fordham University, where he most recently served as Senior Director of Athletics Development and Senior Associate Director of Athletics. In that role, he led a five-person development team, directed all athletics fundraising operations, and provided strategic leadership for major gift, annual fund, and capital campaign initiatives. At Fordham, Hubshman played a key role in securing transformational support for several capital projects, including a $2 million football locker room renovation, a $1.5 million campaign to enhance Water Polo operations, as well as secured funding for a sailing boathouse project. Prior to his time at Fordham, Hubshman spent five years at Hofstra University, where he served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs, leading the department to a 111% increase in philanthropic revenue, a 303% increase in unique donors, and a 59% increase in corporate sponsorships. Hubshman began his career at his alma mater, Stony Brook University, where he was a member of the Seawolves football team and served as team captain. Kevin Bracken joined the Big Green staff before the spring of 2025 as secondary coach, coming to Dartmouth from Endicott College where he served as defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. "My family and I are very grateful for the opportunity of joining the Dartmouth Football Program and community," said Bracken. "I am excited to not only work at one of the best academic institutions in the world, but also with some of the best student-athletes across the planet. I would like to thank Coach Dobes, Coach McCorkle and [Haldeman Family Director of Athletics and Recreation] Mike Harrity for this opportunity. At Endicott, Bracken helped lead a defense that was among the national leaders in a number of categories: scoring defense (third), defensive pass efficiency (fourth), passing yards (fourth), red zone defense (seventh) and total defense yards per play (11th). After the season, four members of the defense were named to All-Region teams, one member was a D2/D3 Writers Selection, one member was named the CNE Defensive Player of the Year and nine were All-Conference selections. Recruiting Area: California, Arizona Kevin Daft was hired at Dartmouth as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in February of 2017. He arrived with more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience, most recently at his alma mater, the University of California, Davis. Daft has been instrumental in Dartmouth posting a 52-18 record since arriving, including 35 wins in his first four seasons, the most over any four-season span in program history. He has helped the Big Green to Ivy League Championships in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024. Over a five-year span, Dartmouth has had the least number of turnovers in the country. Quarterback Nick Howard owns the Dartmouth record for most rushing touchdowns in a career. Derek Kyler graduated with the highest completion percentage all-time at Dartmouth (69%), a record Jackson Proctor would go on to break (70%). In his first year, Dartmouth ranked in the top half of the league in scoring, rushing, passing and total yards while QB Jack Heneghan earned All-Ivy honorable mention before signing with the San Francisco 49ers after graduation. In 2018, he had the Big Green among the top 20 in the nation in rushing and scoring. Nathaniel Dominy took over the role of Faculty Athletics Representative for the department in the winter of 2025. A former student-athlete at Johns Hopkins, the 1998 graduate serves as the Charles Hansen Professor of Anthropology at Dartmouth. His research revolves around the evolution, ecology and behavior of primates, with a special focus on diet and human origins. In addition to serving as Dartmouth's NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative, Professor Dominy is a Team Faculty Advisor to Football and a Faculty Fellow in the House Residential System. Professor Dominy was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Ecology and Evolution, University of Chicago (2002-04) following the completion of his PhD in Anatomy at the University of Hong Kong (2001). He is a 1998 graduate of Johns Hopkins University where he was a fullback on the football team, and was awarded the Johns Hopkins Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2017.

Todd Gilcrist joined the Big Green in February of 2026, coming to Hanover with a wide range of coaching experience from the Division III level to the NFL. Gilcrist spent the six months before Dartmouth at Division III Averett. As the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach, Gilcrist implemented the offensive system and coached the Cougars to 231.5 yards per game, 2,086 total yards, and 16 touchdowns. Prior to his time in Virginia, Gilcrist was the Bill Walsh Coaching Fellow and Offensive Intern at the Jacksonville Jaguars, working with the team's wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends. He assisted with quality control, on-field training, and player tracking and rotation assistance on game days. Gilcrist has also been a head coach, coaching the University of Chicago Maroons to a 13-7 record in 2023. In two seasons in Chicago, he coached 5 All-Americans and over 25 all-conference players. His Division I coaching experience came at Holy Cross and fellow Ivy League member Columbia. Gilcrist was the offensive pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach for the back-to-back-to-back Patriot League Champion Crusaders from 2019-2022. In four seasons with the Lions, Gilcrist played a pivotal role in turning a winless program into an 8-2 team, second best in the Ivy League.
