Zach Haupt

Biography

Zach Haupt joined Davidson as an assistant coach in October 2021. Coach Haupt handles the long jump and triple jump in addition to sprints and sprint relays for both genders. "I would like to thank Coaches Straub and Waldron for believing that my experiences, character, and values lined with those that they were looking for in this position," Haupt said. "I am excited to be an important part of the support system for both our track & field directors and student-athletes, and I look forward to assisting in the process of meeting our program's academic and athletic goals. I am thrilled to be a Wildcat." Haupt competed collegiately at McKendree College where he was a four-time All-American selection and earned Most Valuable Field Athlete following the 1997-98 season. He also qualified for the 1996 Olympic Trials. His first foray into coaching was the 2000-01 season at Syracuse University in 2000 before returning to his alma mater as the Assistant Coach in 2002.
