Matt Kane enters his second year as the Director of Cross Country/Track and Field for the 2025-26 season after serving as the women's associate head coach for the Noles from 2020-2024. During his first year under the helm, the Noles made three National Championship appearances, with two top-five finishes at the Indoor and Outdoor ACC Conference Championships, earning a total of nine ACC gold medals, including a combined total of 19 first-team All-ACC members. Kane concluded the 2025 slate with six first-team All-Americans and 45 total moves on the FSU all-time top 10 list. Kane also led Kaelyaah Liburd (British Virgin Islands) and Joella Llyod (Antigua and Barbuda). Shenese Walker had one of the most memorable seasons under Kane, after being crowned the ACC 60-meter champion for two consecutive seasons before being named a first-team All-American in the event. At the ACC Outdoor Championship, Walker completed the sweep for the triple crown in the 100, 200, and 4x100-meter (meet record) to be named the Women's MVP for her efforts. Walker was also the 32nd Jamaican woman to break 11 seconds in all conditions. At the East preliminary round, Walker helped the Seminoles to an ACC record performance at 42.72 in the 4x100 relay. She concluded her season at the outdoor national championship to secure two more All-American honors in the 4x100 relay and 100. During Bryant’s inaugural season with the Seminoles, the throws unit achieved six performances that placed them on Florida State’s all-time top 10 list. The indoor season saw Austin Kleinman, Cooper Crowell, and Zee Curtis set personal bests in the weight throw, securing their positions on the top 10 list. In the outdoor season, Maddy McGloin, Austin Kleinman, and Cooper Crowell earned top 10 all-time spots in the hammer throw. Bryant’s throwers delivered a remarkable performance at the 2025 ACC Outdoor Championships, during which Ahmari Avin, Austin Kleinman, Cooper Crowell, and Zee Curtis all recorded personal bests. Kleinman and Zee both finished in the top 10 at the ACC Championships. Prior to his appointment at Florida State and Texas, Bryant served as an Associate Athletic Director for Major Gifts and as an Assistant Track & Field Coach at Texas State University from 2016 to 2022. During Bryant’s tenure as throws coach, he coached three Sun Belt Conference Field Athletes of the Year, nine individual conference champions, and shattered four Texas State school records. In collaboration with John Frazier, Bryant played a pivotal role in Alyssa Wilson’s ascent to becoming one of the most accomplished throwers in NCAA history. During his first season with the Seminoles, Cawley boasted three top-five finishes combined from the Indoor and Outdoor ACC conference championships, including one ACC Men's MVP honor. Three Seminoles went on to compete at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships, continuing the 18-year-long streak of the jumps crew competing at the national championship. Under the guidance of Cawley, Kyvon Tatham was named the ACC Men’s Field Outdoor MVP for his efforts. Tatham won both the indoor and outdoor triple jump at the conference meet before placing third in the event at the NCAA Outdoor National Championships, marking the highest postseason finish of his career. Under the guidance of Davis, Shenese Walker was named the ACC Women’s MVP. Davis led the Noles to 13 moves on the FSU all-time top 10 list. The Noles had 12 athletes at the NCAA Championship with four first-team All-Americans, marking the most since the 2022 season. In 2024, Davis led Jhana Davis to a remarkable year in the 200 meters, placing 13th at the NCAA West Regional Preliminary with a time of 22.93. Downie concluded her year competing at the JAAA Olympic Trials. Under the guidance of Davis, Aliyah Logan achieved a season best in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.06 in the Texas Relays. Logan also ran a wind-aided time of 12.98 at the C-USA Championships. She placed fourth at the Olympic Trials. Davis helped Terice Steen capture the 400 hurdle title, clocking a time of 57.90 at the C-USA Championships, and contributed to breaking school records in the 4x100 and 4x400 relay. She also contributed to New Mexico’s State first Outdoor Western Athletic Conference title. Steen also competed at the Jamaican National Championship, placing sixth at 57.64.
