Biography

John Hampton was hired as an assistant coach with GW in 2025 and was elevated to Associate Head Coach of the program ahead of the 2026-27 season. During his first season in Foggy Bottom, Hampton helped guide GW to 18 wins, assisting in setting the culture of hard work and excellence laid out by Head Coach Ganiyat Adeduntan. The program's 13 home wins were the most since 2014-15, and the Revolutionaries thrived in March, winning three games in the WNIT to advance to the tournament's Great Eight. Under his tutelage, Rutgers saw one player reach the 1,000-career-point threshold, helping her to the 28th-most points in program history. During his first season in 2022-23, Hampton, along with Head Coach Coquese Washington, laid the foundation for a strong team culture both on and off the court. He helped guide the program to its 1,000th win all-time, becoming just the 22nd Division I team and the third Big Ten team to reach that mark. No stranger to the A-10, Hampton spent seven seasons with Saint Joseph’s from 2015-21. After starting as an assistant, Hampton was elevated to the program’s Assi
