Head Coach
Brian May became the fifth coach in program history after the announcement of his hiring in May of 2022. May joined the Hoosiers after spending the previous eight years with the University of Kentucky women’s golf team as an assistant coach. The 2025-26 season will be May's fourth in Bloomington. During the 2024-25 campaign, his third with the Hoosiers, May helped guide Indiana to four top-5 finishes, including three-straight tournaments to close out the regular season. Indiana broke the program record for lowest round with a 276 (-12), earned the second-lowest 36-hole tally (569), and tied for the fourth-lowest 54-hole mark (860) in a historic week at the Illini Women’s Invitational. Redshirt senior Caroline Smith and junior Madison Dabagia each punched a ticket to the NCAA Lexington Regional, IU’s second-straight season with NCAA postseason play. Smith, who tied for ninth in Lexington, broke the school’s single-season stroke average record (73.09) and finished her career second in team history in career stroke average (73.49) in 67 rounds. Dabagia slotted into the second spot in single-season stroke average (73.12) during her debut season with the Hoosiers. In a remarkable turnaround during the 2023-24 season, May led the Hoosiers to the program’s first Big Ten Championship in over 30 seasons after the team erased an 11-shot deficit in the final round of play. Assistant Coach
Indiana women’s golf head coach Brian May completed his coaching staff with the addition of assistant coach Ivy Shepherd, the program announced on July 2, 2024. The 2025-26 season will be Shepherd's second in Bloomington. During the 2024-25 campaign, her first with the Hoosiers, May helped guide Indiana to four top-5 finishes, including three-straight tournaments to close out the regular season.
