Assistant Coach Throws
Felipe Valencia joins the SFA Lumberjack Track and Field staff as an assistant coach. He will oversee the Men’s and Women’s Throws program. Coach Valencia previously coached at University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio from 2021-2024 where he guided athletes to the first ever Men’s team titles in school history. Valencia led student-athletes to break 10 out of the 12 throwing school records under his leadership. In his 3 years at UIW he had multiple Southland Conference Champions in Shot Put, Weight Throw, and Javelin. Valencia volunteered at UTRGV with the throws program in 2020-2021 where he was mentored by throws coach Brad Foote. Personal As a student-athlete, Valencia attended University of Houston competing on the track and field team from 2015-2019 and was a part of numerous Conference Championship titles and 3 times Conference Champion in the Shot Put himself. Valencia competed for the Mexican National Team from 2016-2021 and was selected to represent Team Mexico in the 2016 NACAC U-23 Championship in El Salvador where he finished 5th place. Valencia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Master’s degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Houston and a Master’s degree in Sport Management from University of the Incarnate Word.

Assistant Coach Multis and Vertical Jumps
Keith Reiter will oversee the men’s and women’s Pole Vault, High Jump & Combined Event athletes in his second year with Stephen F. Austin State University. In Reiter's first year with the Lumberjacks, he had some success at the Conference and Regional levels. The indoor season included some great performances and podium finishes at the WAC Championships for SFA in the Women's Pentathlon, Women's Pole Vault, Men's Long Jump and was capped off with a Conference Champion in the Men's High Jump for Hunter Murphy. Outdoor season brought some more success with podium finishes at the WAC Championships in the Men's & Women's Long Jump, Men's 110 hurdles, Women's Triple Jump, Men's High Jump, and another Conference Champion in Women's Pole Vault for Kira Van Den Ham. Reiter also had a few athletes qualify for the NCAA Regional Meet in Men's High Jump and Men's Long Jump. PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS Reiter was honored as the NCAA DIII Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015 and has previously coached at Division II – Tiffin University, Division III – University of Mount Union, Division I – University of Cincinnati, and Division I - McNeese State University. With Tiffin University, Reiter was named the Associate Head Track & Field coach in his last year with the Dragons, 2022-23. He spent 9 years as the Vertical Jumps & Multi Events Coach for both the men & women including some seasons as the javelin and horizontal jumps coach. Assistant Coach/Director of Operations
Mara Clark is entering her second season with the Lumberjack Track and Field staff as Director of Operations and assistant Coach. Mara joins with experience from her tenure at Georgetown College, where she successfully led the throws program along with leading the strength and conditioning program for the sprinters and throwers. She had coached 2 athletes to NAIA Indoor and Outdoor championships, along with one of her athletes breaking the school record for shot put 4x in one season. Outside of athletics, Mara was a Kinesiology and Health Studies Professor for the College Mara attended Central Michigan University, where she was a three-year letter winner in track and field, specializing in the hammer, weight and discus. Clark was a 3x MAC conference qualifier in the women's hammer. Clark graduated Central Michigan University with a degree in Clinical Science in 2021 and a Master of Science in Public Health in 2022.
