Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach (men's lacrosse, women's ice hockey, women's tennis)
The 2022-23 academic year serves as the first year at Syracuse University for Tony Pedrotti as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Pedrotti serves as a sport performance coach for the University's men's lacrosse, women's ice hockey, and women's tennis programs. He works closely with the coaching and sports medicine staffs to develop practice plans to reduce injuries, aid in return-to-play instructions, and optimize student-athlete performance with the use of GPA and accelerometer devices. Prior to Syracuse, Pedrotti was the head strength and conditioning coach at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland from 2018 until August of 2022. There he oversaw all aspects of strength and conditioning for all 28 Mustang athletic teams. Pedrotti developed weightlifting programs to improve performance and reduce the potential for injury, while also creating nutrition presentations to educate student-athletes on nutrition's impact on performance. From April 2015 until January 2018, Pedrotti served as the head of strength and conditioning at SUNY Maritime College in Throggs Neck, New York. Additionally, Pedrotti was the run game coordinator and offensive line coach for the Privateers' football program. Pedrotti began his professional career at Bethany College, located in Bethany, West Virginia, for two years. Heather Farrell, a veteran coach with 18 years of coaching experience at all levels of the game, joined the Orange program as associate head coach in October 2022. Farrell’s resume includes stints as a collegiate head coach, collegiate assistant coach, secondary school coach and as an administrator and teacher. The 2004 graduate of Ohio State joined the Orange coaching staff after 11 years as the head coach at St. Paul’s School, a college preparatory boarding school in New Hampshire. In her 11 years at St. Paul’s, Farrell guided the program to a 203-51-7 record, including New England Championships in 2015 and 2020. She was also the associate dean of admissions, director of office management, an advisor for students, and participated on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) Alliance and Affinity council. Prior to her work at St. Paul’s, Farrell was an assistant coach at Bemidji State from 2007 through 2011, where she was responsible for planning team development, including individual skill and team systems/concepts, leading the penalty kill unit which led the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) with a 90.5 percentage, and serving as the academic advisor for the team. She was also a physical education health and sport instructor and served on the Student Affairs committee at Bemidji. Rodney Blachford joined the Syracuse equipment staff in 2011. He is responsible for ordering all team apparel, maintenance of equipment, inventory and outfitting the women’s ice hockey team.
