During the 2022-23 season, Steele spent time as the lead assistant for Temple as she helped the squad to six of the team’s Top 20 scores in school history, including the third and fourth highest overall scores. With her primary apparatus being the beam, Steele helped the Cherry and White to two of the program’s Top 10 scores. Seven of her student-athletes matched or set career highs on the beam with two Owls earning All-EAGL on beam under her tutelage. Prior to her arrival at Temple, Steele served as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Maryland, assisting with all four events with her primary focus being on the floor and vault. She helped Maryland earn a No. 20 national ranking during the season, post the second through fifth highest point totals in program history, and have one of its gymnasts earn All-American honors for the first time since 2013. While coaching in College Park, Steele was also an Optional Coach at Hill's Gymnastics Training Center in Maryland, known for training some of the best gymnasts on the East Coast.
