At Texas Tech... 2 National Team Championships - Men 2019 Outdoor, 2024 Indoor 1 Olympic Silver Medalist 7 NCAA Champions 3 Olympic Finalists 116 All-Americans 74 Individual Big 12 Champions 2019 USTFCCCA National Men's Assistant Coach of the Year - Outdoor Seven-Time USTFCCCA Mountain Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year (2016 Indoor, 2018 Indoor, 2018 Outdoor, 2019 Indoor, 2019 Outdoor, 2020 Indoor, 2022 Indoor) 2008 Indoor USTFCCCA Mountain Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year Calvin Robinson is entering his 11th season in 2025-26 and has turned the Red Raider sprints team into a national powerhouse. Known throughout the coaching community as a “jack of all trades,” Robinson has worked with both world-class sprinters and jumpers during his 24-year career. Before he start of the 2023-24 season, head coach Wes Kittley promoted Robinson as the Associate Head Coach. The sprints and hurdles crew once again stayed dominant during the 2025 season. In the Big 12 indoor team victory, the squad alone totaled 59 of the Tech men 130 points. The women on the other hand scored 47 of the 113.5 points in the team win. Naomi Krebs and Malachi Snow each won the 60m hurdles as Snow went on to place 3rd at the NCAA Indoor Championships. In that same meet, the men's 4x400 team placed 2nd. At Texas Tech... 2 National Championships (2019 outdoor, 2024 indoor) 3 NCAA Champions 3 Olympians 38 All-Americans USTFCCCA Mountain Region Women's Assistant of the Year (2008 Outdoor, 2009 Indoor, 2011 Outdoor, 2012 Indoor, 2016 Outdoor, 2025 outdoor) Cliff Felkins is entering his 26th season as the throws coach in 2025-26. Under the tutelage of Felkins in 2025, Shelby Frank re-wrote the Texas Tech record book and elevated her throwing game to new heights. Frank secured three Big 12 titles - indoor weight, hammer and discus throw - and finished as a 1st Team All-American indoors in the weight and both hammer and discus outdoors. She scored 14 of the Tech women's 22 points at the NCAA Outdoor Championships as the team placed 12th overall. Frank placed 2nd in the hammer and placed 3rd in the discus. At the NCAA Indoor meet, she finished 5th in the weight throw. She left Tech holding all top 10 marks in the weight throw, hammer throw and nearly each discus mark. The 2024 season season was highlighted beginning with the NCAA Indoor team title run as he guided Jacob Mechler to his first NCAA appearance, competing in the weight throw - Mechler was the runner-up in the event at the conference meet. When it came to the outdoor portion, he mentored freshman shot putter Trey Wilson to national status as one of the top freshmen in the country, sending him to the NCAA outdoor meet. At Texas Tech... 2 National Championships (2019 outdoor, 2024 indoor) 4 NCAA Champions 15 First Team All-Americans 9 Big 12 Champions 3 Big 12 Cross Country Championships Jon Murray is entering his 20th season with Texas Tech at the start of the 2024-25 season. A three-time Big 12 Coach of the Year, the distance running program at Texas Tech has reached a pinnacle among the Big 12 while consistently contending on the national level. During the 2023 cross country season, Murray's three newcomers in Juliet Cherubet, Anastasia Chepkorir and Gideon Kiplimo, all found success, making it to the NCAA Championships as Cherubet finished as an All-American (top-40). The 2024 indoor/outdoor season saw freshman Ernest Cheruiyot win the Big 12 10k indoor title as he would go on to finish fourth outdoors. Cherubet would place her names all over the Tech record book in the 1500m and 5k, as she would finish as an All-American (fifth) by season's end in the 5k. She was the Big 12 outdoor 1500m champion, while placing second in the 5k. The 2021 cross country season saw the development of Halena Rahmaan reach new heights as the Texas transfer registered a personal best time in each of the regular season meeting leading up to the conference meet. Outdoor 2022 Mountain Region Women's Assistant Coach of the Year 2 NCAA National Champions Keith Herston is entering his 5th season with Texas Tech in 2025-26. Herston's jumps squad took a huge leap forward during the 2025 season. Beginning with the Big 12 Indoor meet, Temitope Adeshina (high jump) and Tamiah Washington (triple jump) walked away with Big 12 titles. Adeshina then claimed the NCAA Indoor title, while Washington went on to place 2nd on her final jump. The Big 12 Outdoor meet saw three more champions come his way. BJ Jennings and Adeshina took home the high jump titles as Victoria Gorlova claimed the triple jump crown. At the NCAA Outdoor meet, the women scored 8 of Tech's 22 points. Adeshina placed 5th in the high jump as Gorlova finished 5th in the triple jump. When it comes to the 2024 season, Ruta Lasmane captured her first NCAA title, winning the indoor meet, in the process giving coach Herston his first NCAA champion. Meanwhile, freshman high jumper Temitope Adeshina garnered national and global attention. She capped off her first season as a Red Raider owning both the indoor and outdoor high jump school records, becoming a 1st Team All-American in both seasons. At the NCAA indoor meet she placed fourth, while finishing third at the outdoor meet. Scott Ramsey serves as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Olympic sports at Texas Tech University. He began his strength and conditioning career in 2018 after completing his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Texas Tech. As an intern, he assisted in the implementation and programming for multiple teams including men's and women's golf, track and field, women's basketball, volleyball and baseball, while working his way up through the intern program. Ramsey was promoted to a full time post-graduate intern position in 2019. Under this role, he assisted in the intern program for Olympic sports, prepping graduate and undergraduate interns for their SCCC certification test, and in the summer of 2020, was assigned to be the assistant strength and conditioning coach for women's basketball. In the spring of 2021, Ramsey was promoted to the strength and conditioning coordinator position while taking over as the head strength and conditioning coach for the men's and women's golf programs, while also continuing his previous assignments. In the fall of 2021, Ramsey was promoted to the assistant strength and conditioning position for Olympic Sports, where he maintains his status as the head strength and conditioning coach for both men's and women's golf programs along with men's and women's track and field.
