Now entering 19 seasons as the head coach of one of the most successful Army West Point programs, Alma Kovaci Lee has proven to be one of the best young volleyball coaching minds in the country. During her tenure at West Point, Kovaci Lee has authored a 331-178 (.750) record and led the Black Knights to the 2009 and 2020 Patriot League titles. The 2009 team captured the program's first championship since 1994 and fourth overall, and the Cadets punched their ticket to the NCAA Division I Tournament for the first time in the program's 36-year history. Kovaci Lee made history in the 2024 season, with the Black Knights' 12th win of the season against Lehigh on November 9 earning her 327th career win, making her the winningest coach in Army Volleyball program history. She surpassed the previous record of 326 wins, set by former head coach Bob Gambardella. A native of Tirana, Albania, Kovaci Lee became the seventh Army West Point volleyball head coach in 2007 in what was her first head coaching appointment. Since ascending into a head coaching role, she garnered back-to-back Patriot League Coach of the Year honors in 2008 and 2009. A 2002 graduate of Temple University, Kovaci Lee earned a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and was an immediate standout on the court, serving as the Owls' captain in 1999 and 2000, while helping them to three-straight Atlantic 10 titles (1997-99).
