Through 21 seasons as UCLA’s head coach, John Savage has established the Bruins as a consistent national championship contender. Savage helped UCLA reach college baseball’s pinnacle in 2013, as the Bruins won their first-ever NCAA baseball title. Under his guidance, UCLA has advanced to the postseason in 14 of the last 20 seasons, hosting an NCAA Regional seven times during that span, including four-straight from 2010 through 2013 (there was no postseason held in 2020). Savage completed his 21st season as UCLA’s head coach in 2025, guiding the Bruins back to the Men's College World Series. UCLA hosted an NCAA Regional and Super Regional, sweeping through both rounds to earn a trip to Omaha for the sixth time in program history, and fourth time under his tenure. He is currently the third-longest-tenured head coach in UCLA baseball program history and has gone 724-481-2 in the past 21 seasons. In 14 trips to the postseason at UCLA, Savage has compiled a 52-29 record (.642 winning percentage), recording the most postseason victories of any head coach in program history. With Savage at the program’s helm, UCLA advanced to the College World Series in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2025, reaching the best-of-three championship series in 2010 and 2013. Kyle Hashimoto joined the UCLA Athletic Performance team in September of 2024. He is responsible for implementation of training programs for baseball, women's water polo, and men's and women's cross country. Prior to UCLA, Hashimoto worked at California State University Long Beach working with the Dirtbags baseball team. He was also Director of Basketball Performance at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas where he worked with men's and women's basketball. Previous to that he also made stops at Towson University in Towson, Maryland and was also a Graduate Assistant at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. He began his career in athletics as an intern with the University of Washington football team in 2016-2017. Hashimoto received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology with a minor in Computer Science from Gonzaga University. He also received his Masters of Science in Human Physiology from Briar Cliff University. He is a Certified Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified.
