Abby Owings completed her third season with the program in 2025-26 and her first as Director of Scouting and Analytics / Assistant Coach after being promoted to the role ahead of the season. She previously served two seasons as Director of Operations / Assistant Coach. Owings is a two-time WBCA Thirty Under 30 selection (2025, 2022). The WBCA Thirty Under 30 program was created to recognize 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. In 2024-25, Owings helped lead the team to its best winning percentage since 2019-20, including UC's highest non-conference winning percentage (.800, 8-2) since 2005-06 and its most conference victories (7) since 2019-20. Among her many contributions, Owings' scout played a crucial role in one of UC's most notable conference wins — a victory over Colorado. Owings most recently served as an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Eastern Kentucky from 2021-23. She assisted the Colonels to a 33-30 record, including a 22-8 home mark, and orchestrated recruiting efforts in their transition to the ASUN conference. Prior to her latest stint, Owings served in the same role at Bellarmine for its transition to Division I basketball in the 2020-21 season. Ashley Barlow brings more than a decade of coaching experience to the Bearcats, including eight seasons as a longtime assistant under Katrina Merriweather. Barlow was promoted to Associate Coach in 2025-26 and works directly with the guards while serving as the team’s offensive coordinator. Barlow was selected by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association to participate in the 2026 WBCA Next Generation Institute — a high-level education program for experienced assistant coaches who aspire to become collegiate head coaches. Barlow helped guide the development of point guard Caliyah DeVillasee, who earned All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors after finishing with 106 assists in 2025-26. DeVillasee became just the fourth freshman in program history to surpass the 100-assist mark and the first since 2006-07, while recording the most assists by a Bearcat in a season since 2021-22 despite missing four games. In 2024-25, Barlow helped lead the team to its best winning percentage since 2019-20, including UC's highest non-conference winning percentage (.800, 8-2) since 2005-06 and its most conference victories (7) since 2019-20.
