Heading into his 25th season with the Jayhawks, head coach Clark Campbell has created a winning tradition and strong culture within the swimming and diving program, evident by an eight-year stint (2014-22) where Kansas claimed seven second-place finishes at the Big 12 Championships, including four-straight from 2019-22. The 2023-24 season brought the program its first All-American since the 2020 season as diver Shiyun Lai earned CSCAA Second Team and NCAA Honorable Mention honors in the one and three meter events. Lai shined in her freshman season as she set a school record in the one meter dive with 340.45 points in route to winning Big 12 Newcomer Diver of the Meet and finished 14th in the nation with 14th place finishes in both the one and three meter events at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship. The Jayhawks wrapped up their season with a 5-2 record and a seventh-place finish at the 2024 Big 12 Championship. Campbell's 2022-23 team posted a 4-2 record and finished fifth at the 2023 Big 12 Championship with highlighted performances by Lezli Sisung, earning Big 12 Swimmer of the Week on January 25, 2023 after her performances at Arkansas. During the 2021-22 season, Campbell coached the Jayhawks to their fourth-consecutive second-place finish at the Big 12 Championships with a final team score of 618 points.
