Head Coach
Malikah Willis has been the head women's basketball coach at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore since April of 2024. Willis came to UMES with over 23 years of collegiate coaching experience which includes stints at Kennesaw State (2022-24), Mississippi State (2021-22), Eastern Michigan (2020-21), Texas Tech (2019-20), College of Charleston (2017-19), Georgia Tech (2013-17), West Virginia (2009-13), Norfolk State (2007-09), Elizabeth City State (2004-07), Cheyney (2003-04), Chicago State (2002-03), and Illinois-Chicago (2001-02). During her career, Willis has served in various roles, including the lead recruiter positions at the majority of her schools. A highly-touted recruiter, Willis has helped compile seven top-25 recruiting classes, including four while at West Virginia and three at Georgia Tech. She has signed two McDonald's All-Americans and coached 16 student-athletes to all-conference honors during her time in the Big East, Big 12, ACC and the SEC. In addition, Willis has coached five players who have been drafted into the WNBA. Among her other coaching career accolades include the accomplishments while at Georgia Tech and West Virginia. During her time at GT, the Yellow Jackets reached the NCAA tournament once while going to three postseason WNIT appearances while reaching the championship final once. Associate Head Coach
Adria Crawford joined the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in June 2024 as an assistant coach for the women's basketball program before being elevated to associate head coach before the 2025-26 season. During her first year with the Hawks, Crawford helped the team to a 14-win season in which UMES advanced to the semifinals of the MEAC Tournament on a six-game win streak. Crawford arrived at UMES following two successful seasons with the George Washington Revolutionaries, where her team reached the 2023-2024 A-10 Quarterfinals. During her tenure at GW, Crawford played a pivotal role with the team setting a school record for the most made three-pointers in a season in 2022-23, and her efforts resulted in three players earning All-Conference honors. Before joining GW, Crawford served as an assistant at East Tennessee State University during the 2021-22 season. Prior to her time at ETSU, Crawford was at Marshall University, where she served as the recruiting coordinator and helped guide the team to an appearance in the WBI in 2019. She also previously worked as an assistant at the College of Charleston, focusing on the development of post and wing players while managing academic and compliance operations. Assistant Coach
Sarah Miles has been named as a women's basketball assistant coach for the 2025-26 season. Miles arrives at UMES following four years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Denver. During her time with the Pioneers, she was selected for the 2025 Class of WBCA Next Generation Institute and helped coach multiple all-conference selections in the Summit League as well as the Summit League Defensive Player of the Year, Makayla Minett, for the 2022-23 season. Previously, Miles was also an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Central Michigan University during the 2020-21 season. In this season, CMU won the MAC Tournament and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. Additionally, Miles worked as an assistant coach at Northwestern State University for the 2019-20 season after a two-year stay at Colorado State–Pueblo where she served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. During her first season at Colorado State-Pueblo, the program won the Rocky Mountain Conference regular season and conference tournament titles. A graduate of West Virginia University, Miles spent a year as a graduate assistant, helping the team to a Big 12 Conference Tournament title in 2017. She earned a bachelor's degree in multidisciplinary studies while playing for the Mountaineers from 2007-2011, earning Defensive Player of the Year in the Big East for the 2009-10 season and Most Improved Player in the Big East in 2008-09.
