Gwitt was named the fifth head coach in Miami history on Feb. 5, 2024, and has already delivered major on-court gains, improved program innovation and elevated community engagement. In his first year guiding the RedHawks, Gwitt led Miami to a 60% increase in wins while driving significant program enhancements. In Miami’s second season under his direction, the program completed a new state-of-the-art locker room and lounge, purchased a custom Taraflex training and match floor and embarked on an international training trip to Italy and Greece. The 2025 season marked a breakthrough for the program, as Miami set a program attendance record and won 220% more matches than the season before the current staff arrived.
