Biography

Michael Crane enters his fourth season as an assistant coach at Miami in 2026. Miami is coming off an 11-5-3 season in 2025 (8-2-2 MAC), posting the most victories for the program since 2014. The RedHawks finished second in the conference and set a program record for fewest shots allowed in a season, yielding just two total goals in the final 10 matches of the year. Dominique Popa played every minute in goal and tied the school record with 11 shutouts, while six RedHawks earned conference awards (All-MAC: Katie O'Malley- first team, Juliann Kidd- second team, Kayla Perfect- second team, Sophia Penegor- second team; All-Freshman: Carolina Mortonson, Jaden Sink). Miami produced 10 Academic All-MAC student-athletes, four CSC Academic All-District honorees, two All-Tournament nods, two All-Ohio players and two Academic All-Ohio selections. Miami went 8-5-6 in 2024 (4-3-4 in Mid-American Conference play), including the program’s first unbeaten home season since 1999. The Red and White earned the fifth seed in the 2024 MAC tournament, advancing to postseason play for the second time in three years, and produced three All-MAC selections: Taylor Hamlett (First Team), Jamie Hlebec (Second Team) and Maris Jennings (All-Freshman Team). Hamlett and Hlebec were named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-Midwest Region Team, earning Second-Team and Fourth-Team honors, respectively.
