Throughout her 14-year tenure, she has guided the Wolverines to at least 20 wins in 13 seasons, nine NCAA Tournament appearances, two NCAA Elite Eight appearances (2022, 2026), an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance (2021) and the 2017 WNIT Championship. She was announced as the ninth head coach in the history of the program on April 20, 2012 and is the longest tenured coach in program history. Barnes Arico is the winningest coach in program history with 312 wins, the only coach to ever eclipse 300 victories. Director of Operations
Amy Mulligan enters her 15th year as the director of operations alongside J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Women's Basketball coach Kim Barnes Arico for the University of Michigan women's basketball team in 2026-27. Mulligan has been part of KBA's staff since getting the job in 2012. Mulligan entered the operations field after spending almost 10 seasons spearheading the media relations efforts of several women's basketball programs. At Michigan, she is responsible for planning the Wolverines' travel, budget and scheduling, among many other administrative duties. She has been part nine NCAA Tournament teams, advancing to the Elite Eight twice (2022, 2026) and the Sweet 16 in 2021. Mulligan was a member of the staff that helped the Wolverines capture the 2017 WNIT championship and has been integral to Michigan's rise over the last decade and a half. Mulligan works alongside Michigan's external teams in promoting and marketing the Michigan women's basketball program, with U-M setting a new average attendance mark at Crisler in 2025-26 at 4,772. Prior to joining the staff at U-M, Mulligan served an assistant athletics media relations director at Virginia since October 2007. As the primary media relations contact for the Cavalier women's basketball and women's lacrosse programs, Mulligan was responsible for writing and editing media guides in addition to writing game recaps, news releases, game notes, game programs and feature stories. Danielle Rauch, a U-M letterwinner from 2019-22, begins her second season in Ann Arbor as an assistant coach in 2026-27. Michigan is coming off arguably the best season in program history in 2025-26, reaching the Elite Eight for just the second time and tying the program record for wins with 28. U-M also set numerous statistical records, including points (2,880), points per game (82.3), rebounds (1,409), field goals made (1,086) and field goals attempted (2,346). The Wolverines were ranked in every Associated Press poll during the season, including a streak of 17 straight weeks in the top 10. Michigan tied for second in the Big Ten behind a 15-3 record and reached the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament for the third straight season. Michigan hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament at Crisler Center for just the second time, advancing to the Fort Worth Region 3 regional where the Wolverines knocked off Louisville before falling to Texas in the regional final. Olivia Olson became the second Wolverine in program history to earn All-America honors, grabbing second-team honors from ESPN and The Athletic and third-team honors from the Associated Press and Sporting News. Director of Video and Analytics
Dillon Carson is in his second season as the Director of Video and Analytics for the Michigan women's basketball program in 2026-27. Carson joins the Wolverines after spending time at Charleston, Tennessee and Louisville. Carson spent the 2024-25 season as a graduate assistant with the Charleston men's basketball program, assisting with player development and scouting reports, while upkeeping the playbook in SportsCode and FastDraw. He was a graduate assistant for the Tennessee women's basketball program for the 2023-24 season, where he helped with player development, on-campus recruiting, organizing film, upkeeping recruiting databases, operating team camp, and managing team ticket and ball kid programs. As an undergraduate student at Louisville (May 2019-March 2023), Carson served as a student manager for the men's basketball program, leading and overseeing a staff of 10 managers and assisting with team meals, opponent film organization, recruiting itineraries, scouting reports, and mailouts. A 2023 graduate of the University of Louisville, Carson holds a bachelor's degree in sport administration.
