University of Missouri-St Louis Volleyball

Ryan Young enters his 16th season with the Tritons program, including his 15th as head coach in 2024 after serving as an assistant coach for one year. With 14 seasons at the helm of the program, he has compiled a record of 283-141 (.667). Prior to his appointment at UMSL, Young served as a club coach for St. Louis High Performance, where in each of his six seasons as a head coach, he directed his teams to qualify for the Open Division in Junior Olympics, with top 10 finishes in the Open Division in 2007 and 2008. His other coaching experience includes two years as an assistant at St. Louis College of Pharmacy and as an assistant at CBC High School. Young played four years at Missouri Baptist (2005-08), earning second team all-conference honors and helping lead his team to NAIA third place finishes in 2005 and 2007. He prepped at CBC High School in St. Louis from 2001-04, earning first team all-metro honors as a senior. Young also played five years of club volleyball for Missouri Thunder and two years for St. Louis High Performance, winning two bronze medals at the Junior Olympics. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Missouri Baptist.
