Katie Vaughn is the head coach of women's basketball at University of Missouri - St. Louis, beginning her 14th season in 2025-26. She is the all-time wins leader in program history with a record of 202-152 (.571). Vaughn came to UMSL following three seasons at Lincoln (Mo.) University, where she directed the program to its most successful season in school history with a 15-13 record in the 2011-12 campaign. She also spent five years at Moberly Area Community College, including three seasons (2006-09) as head coach, where her teams compiled a 56-37 record. In 14 seasons as a head coach, Vaughn holds a 231-204 (.531) record. She has guided the Tritons to 10 GLVC Tournaments and directed the 2013-14 and 2021-22 teams to NCAA Tournaments. Her 2021-22 team posted school records with 23 overall wins and 17 conference wins, while her 2017-18 team went 21-6 with a 14-game win streak. Vaughn began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Central Missouri, her alma mater, where she earned degrees in Psychology and Sports Administration. She played college basketball at Central Missouri from 1998-2002.
