Biography

Gray came to UNE after serving as the head coach at Thomas College [NCAA III] from 2016-22, and at Husson University [NCAA III] in 2014-15. Before that, he was a two-year assistant at the University of Southern Maine [NCAA III] from 2012-13. Gray started coaching in the high school ranks, leading Cheverus High School, Tilton School (N.H.), and Thornton Academy for a combined 12 seasons, during which he compiled over 100 head coaching wins and guided four championship teams. Gray played two seasons (1998-99) of lacrosse at Plymouth State University [NCAA III], where he was a two-way midfielder and faceoff specialist. As a sophomore in 1999, he was honorable mention all-conference. He then transferred to the University of Maine [NCAA I] and competed in track & field, where he excelled in the 100-meter dash and javelin throw. Gray earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education in 2002.
