Ryan Cabbage enters his 15th year at the helm of the 49ers golf program in 2025-26. During his 26 year coaching career at both Auburn and Charlotte, Cabbage has coached 11 All-Americans, 45 All-Conference Players, 5 Individual Conference Champions, 24 All-American Scholars, 6 Walker Cup Team Members, and 1 Curtis Cup Team Member. The Niners have been represented in 21-straight NCAA Tournaments after the team's Bremerton NCAA Regional bid in the spring of 2025. Charlotte defeated South Florida in a playoff to clinch the 2025 American Championship as Seb Cave, Justin Matthews, and Daniel Boone, Jr. were named to the all-conference team. Cave and Mathews were selected to the GCAA All-Region East Team, and after the season Cave and Frazer Jones earned amateur bids to The 153rd Open Championship. In addition, Matthews made the cut for the RBC Canadian Open for the second consecutive year. The Niners have been recognized as Golfweek’s National Team of the Week on two separate occasions during Cabbage’s tenure at Charlotte. In 2014-15, Cabbage guided the Niners to their first-ever NCAA Regional title winning the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional by five shots over Stanford to earn the team's berth back into the NCAA Finals The 2022-2023 season saw the Niners claim the top spot after 3 rounds of stroke play competition and enter the C-USA match play portion of the Championship as the #1 seed where they would go on to win their second consecutive C-USA Championship with a 3-2 victory over Lou
