Tyler Allen

Biography

Tyler Allen was hired as the quarterbacks coach at UNT in December of 2025. Allen joins the North Texas staff after spending the 2025 season as an analyst at the University of Texas. In his lone year with the Longhorns, Texas finished the season 9-3 and earned a trip to the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl. Working with the wide receivers, Allen helped Texas WR Ryan Wingo earn Second Team All-SEC honors in 2025. Prior to his time at Texas, Allen spent four seasons at West Virginia serving in a number of roles including quarterbacks coach in 2024. Allen was an offensive analyst in 2022 and added the title of special assistant to the head coach in the 2023 spring. Allen worked directly with QB Garrett Greene in 2024 and helped him finish 19th in FBS in total offense averaging over 275 total yards per game. During his time as an analyst, Allen organized, implemented and maintained all aspects of game analysis for the offensive coaching staff and managed the walk-on program. He charted/tracked statistics during practice and competition, analyzed game film and formulated game plans to assist the offensive coaching staff with game preparation. Allen also organized the practice schedule, managed the offensive graduate assistants and student coaches and supported the head coach with recruiting communication.
