Biography

Britney Brown just wrapped up her third season as the associate head coach of the UNT women’s basketball program. With 15 seasons of Division I coaching experience, Brown is one of the nation’s best leaders, recruiters and defensive minds. Brown has helped UNT reach new heights since arriving in Denton three seasons ago. North Texas recently completed its third straight 19-win season, a first in program history, and leads the American Conference in both total wins (67) and league wins (39) during that span. It also won a share of the program’s second ever conference championship in 2024 and appeared in back-to-back national postseason tournaments her first two years on staff. Last season, North Texas went 19-14 and finished in the top four of the American Conference standings for the third year in a row. The Mean Green ranked top three in the league in both scoring offense and defense and set the program record for three-pointers in a season with 181. Brown was also crucial in the development of Aysia Proctor, who increased her scoring average by 9.6 points compared to her previous year at UTSA and earned Second Team All-Conference honors. A key architect on the defensive end, Brown had the Mean Green ranking top five in the American Conference in scoring defense (62.1), opponent field goal percentage (38.7), turnovers forced per game (18.5) and steals per game (8.7).
