Gino Guidugli

Biography

Gino Guidugli is the Bob and Leslie Mohr Family Quarterbacks Coach/Pass Game Coordinator at Notre Dame. A charter member of the Nippert Stadium Ring of Honor at Cincinnati (2005), Guidugli led the Bearcats to three bowl berths during his four-year playing career from 2001-05, earning two team MVP awards and a Freshman All-America selection. He finished his career at Cincinnati as the only quarterback to throw for 3,500 or more yards in a season. Guidugli spent time on the Tennessee Titans roster in 2005 and played professionally in the Canadian Football League and American Football League before joining the coaching ranks. He boasts 13 total years of coaching experience, including four years as a passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Cincinnati (2018-22), where he developed eventual third-round NFL draft pick Desmond Ridder. At Notre Dame, Guidugli helped guide the Irish quarterbacks to throw 31 touchdown passes in 2023 (fourth-most in program history) and mentored QB Riley Leonard in 2024 to Offensive MVP honors in the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl. Leonard finished as an NFL 6th Round Draft pick and current Indianapolis Colt. In 2025, Guidugli's freshman quarterback CJ Carr finished ranked fifth in passing efficiency (168.1) with 24 passing touchdowns, tied for the second-most among freshman QBs in FBS. Guidugli earned his bachelor's degree in business marketing from Cincinnati in 2005 and his master's degree in sport administration from Central Michigan in 2012.
