Ja'Juan Seider

Biography

Ja'Juan Seider was a standout quarterback at Glades Central High School, where he later returned as running backs coach. He started his collegiate playing career at West Virginia University before transferring to Florida A&M for his senior season. He won the Doug Williams Award for National Offensive Player of the Year, Jake Gaither Award (considered the Heisman Trophy of Historically Black Colleges) and earned All-America honors after throwing for 2,622 yards and 27 touchdowns, and rushing for 740 yards and 14 touchdowns in 1999. He was recognized as the 1999 MEAC Offensive Player of the Year. Seider was selected in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers. He was inducted into the Palm Beach County Hall of Fame in 2017. In his first season with Notre Dame in 2025, the offense finished ranked second in scoring offense, and running backs Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price both garnered All-America honors. Love earned unanimous and consensus All-America recognition and became the first Notre Dame player named as the Doak Walker Award winner. Seider spent seven seasons at Penn State as running backs coach, where he mentored standout running back duo Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton, with both earning NFL Draft selections.
