Head Coach and Director of Golf
John Handrigan, who has served as the head coach of Notre Dame men's golf for the past five seasons, was named the first Notre Dame Director of Golf on June 21, 2022 and assumed a leadership role over both the men's and women's golf programs at the University. Handrigan finished his fifth season with the Irish last year and it was, across the board, the most successful in the modern history of the program. Notre Dame was a top-20 ranked team for the entire 2021-22 season, finished a program-best fifth at the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship and earned the team's highest seed ever – third – in the NCAA Regional. Notre Dame posted 10 consecutive tournaments finishing in the top five in 2021-22, including victories at the prestigious Stephens Cup and a tie for first place at the Gopher Invitational. Handrigan came to Notre Dame following a six-year tenure at the University of Florida. He served as the Gators' associate head coach in 2016-17 after spending the previous five years in Gainesville as an assistant coach. A Bracebridge, Ontario native, Handrigan played collegiately at St. Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. He was an All-Northeast Conference selection in 1998 and runner-up at the league's tournament. Handrigan earned a pair of degrees from St. Francis, a bachelor's degree in business management in 2000 and an M.B.A. in 2002.

Brad Karpick joins Notre Dame as Assistant Coach and Director of Operations for both the men's and women's golf programs. He previously served as an assistant coach with the men's and women's golf programs at UMSL. Karpick competed for five years at GLVC rival Maryville, where he graduated with his MBA in December 2023. He recorded three top-10 and five top-25 finishes in his final season with the Saints, including winning the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender with a score of 215 and was named the GLVC's Men's Golfer of the Week for his performance. Karpick had a scoring average of 74.03 in his final season.

Kara Carter was introduced as assistant coach and director of operations for the Notre Dame golf programs in August 2025. Carter comes to Notre Dame following a four-year collegiate playing career at Xavier where she competed under current Irish women's head coach, Breanna Jenco, who joined the team in June. During her undergraduate career, Carter was a four-time All-BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree, earned four BIG EAST Golfer of the Week nods and was a four-time selection to the All-BIG EAST Team. Nationally, she earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors three times while being a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection. With her fourth All-BIG EAST Team honor in 2024-25, she became just the second in Musketeer in program history to notch conference recognition in all four years. On the course, she finished her collegiate career with a 74.40 stroke average which ranks second lowest in program history and finished in the top-10 at tournaments on 16 occasions. Carter graduated from Xavier in 2025 with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on business analytics and marketing. Prior to her collegiate career at Xavier, Carter was a four-year member of her high school golf team where she served as captain for three years and was named the Big 11 Conference Golfer of the Year in 2019 after leading her team to the championship. Zac Zedrick enters his second season at Notre Dame for the 2021-22 season after Coach Handrigan named him as the Associate Head Coach on July 1, 2021. The 2022-23 season will mark Zedrick's 16th in coaching at the Division-I level. As a result, the Redhawks not only advanced to their first NCAA Regional since 1998, but also Zedrick earned the 2015 MAC Kermit Blosser Coach of the Year Award.
