Luke Huard

Biography

Luke Huard, who comes from a family of outstanding quarterbacks, enters his fifth season at USC. After transitioning from inside receivers to quarterbacks coach for the 2024 season, Huard added offensive coordinator duties in 2025. In 2025, the Trojans finished No. 5 nationally in third down conversion percentage (.513), No. 5 nationally and first in the Big Ten in passing offense (296.0), No. 8 nationally and first in the Big Ten in total offense (465.5) and No. 10 nationally and first in the Big Ten in passing yards per completion (13.74). Huard tutored QB Jayden Maiava, an All-Big Ten Third Team honoree, recorded 265-of-403 (.658) for 3,711 yards with 24 TDs throughout the 2025 season. Maiava led the nation with a 91.2 QBR. He finished the season leading the Big Ten in passing yards (3,711), passing yards per game (285.5), passing yards per completion (14.00) and total offense (297.5). Great throws beat great coverages, and Maiava’s precision and athleticism displayed this throughout the entire season. His accuracy was showcased through his excellent ball placement and timing through his high-value and high-difficulty passes as he finished the regular season No. 7 in the nation with 27 big time throws, per PFF. In 2024, Huard mentored the Trojan quarterbacks. Offensively, the Trojans finished the season ranked in the national Top 25 in passing offense (10, 291.9), third down conversion percentage (25, 0.448), total offense (23, 437.2) and first downs offense (24, 303).
