She joined Dublin Crew as an assistant while still in college before accepting an assistant position with Upper Arlington Crew, where she acted as the primary coach for lightweight and 2V boats. She served as the primary coach for the Olentangy Rowing Club varsity men’s team from 2022-24.

Carrie Schonter-Cherry has served as the director of operations-Olympic sports and business administrator at The University of Toledo since 2015. A native of Erie, Mich., Schonter-Cherry graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1998 with a bachelor of science in telecommunications and film. She earned her masters in education from The University of Toledo in 2008. Schonter-Cherry and her husband Roy are proud owners of two Corgis named Sonny and Reacher.
