Head Women's Tennis Coach
Tracy Mauntler, now entering her 23rd season as head coach, has built the University of Toledo women’s tennis program into one of the most respected and successful in the Mid-American Conference. She is the winningest head coach in Toledo women’s tennis program history with 266 victories heading into the 2025-26 season. Mauntler has coached the Rockets to 14 winning seasons, with her most recent seasons being among her very best. In 2023-24, Toledo won their first MAC Tournament title under Mauntler, defeating Miami on its home court to advance to the first NCAA Tournament in program history. The Rockets concluded their impressive season by being ranked No. 7 in the ITA Midwest Regional Rankings while Cassie Alcala was ranked the No. 20 singles player in the region. Mauntler was named the 2024 MAC Coach of the Year and Midwest Region Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year, which is the first-time ever for a MAC coach. The 2022-23 Rockets set many program records including the most wins in a regular season with 20, went undefeated 10-0 on MAC play, went on a program-best 12-match winning streak, earned the program’s first outright MAC Championship title and No.1 seed in the conference tournament, and made its second-straight appearance in the MAC Championships finals. A native of Toledo, Ohio, Wielgopolski graduated from Ohio University with his bachelors in sciences of journalism in 2022 before getting his masters in recreation and sports science in 2023.

Associate Athletic Director of Olympic Sports Operations
Carrie Schonter-Cherry has served as the director of operations-Olympic sports and business administrator at The University of Toledo since 2015. Prior to her appointment in the Athletic Department, Schonter-Cherry served in a variety of finance positions at UToledo from 2005-11. She left Toledo to become a purchasing card coordinator at the University of Michigan from 2011-12, and then moved on Owens Community College to serve as the Upward Bound specialist from 2012-15 before returning to the Glass City to work for the Rockets. A native of Erie, Mich., Schonter-Cherry graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1998 with a bachelor of science in telecommunications and film. She earned her masters in education from The University of Toledo in 2008. Schonter-Cherry and her husband Roy are proud owners of two Corgis named Sonny and Reacher.

Director of Player Personnel
Jeremy Miller has been a volunteer assistant coach for the University of Toledo women’s tennis program since the 2020-21 season. Miller assisted the Rockets in the 2020-21 season, helping the Rockets achieve a 15-7 record and second place in the Mid-American Conference. After a successful season, the Toledo women’s tennis team received its first-ever team and singles player Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 2022 Collegiate Tennis Division 1 Women’s Regional Rankings. In the Midwest Region, the Rockets were ranked No. 8 as a team while Cassie Alcala was ranked No. 12 as an individual. Miller is an ordained paster and serves as an Catholic Student Association (CSA) Advisor and at Corpus Christy University Parish in Toledo.
