Ramaundo Vaughn

Biography

Ramaundo Vaughn was hired as an assistant coach in May of 2025 and joins the Fresno State women’s basketball program with over 14 years of collegiate head coaching experience. Vaughn holds a championship pedigree as well as a nationally respected record in player development. Vaughn arrives in Fresno following a decorated junior college coaching career at Laney College (Oakland, Calif.) and Diablo Valley College (Pleasant Hill, Calif.), where he compiled a combined record of 302–113 (.728). Vaughn built Laney into a powerhouse from 2021-25, claiming four consecutive Bay Valley Conference titles with a dominant 59–1 league record. His leadership earned him four straight Conference Coach of the Year awards. During his tenure, 17 players earned All-Conference honors, including four league MVP's and seven All-State selections. His 2023–24 squad reached the 3C2A State Final 8, and the program achieved a department-best team GPA of 3.2. Prior to his time at Laney College, Vaughn spent ten seasons at Diablo Valley College and led the Vikings to the 2018–19 3C2A State Championship and three Big 8 Conference titles. His tenure included four State Final 8 appearances and three Sweet 16 runs. Diablo Valley College produced 26 All-Conference players, five Conference MVPs, and led California in Division I transfers during his time with 14 players advancing.
