GW Baseball Head Coach Gregg Ritchie announced the addition of Ramon Garza to his coaching staff in January of 2026. Garza joins the program as an Assistant Coach for the Buff & Blue. Garza arrives in Foggy Bottom after spending one season as the Head Coach for Dallas College - Mountain View’s baseball program. Garza led the Lions to the postseason for the first time since 2019, seeing two of his players earn all-conference honors in the process. Prior to taking over at Mountain View, Garza spent one season as an assistant at Dallas College Eastfield, seeing unprecedented success in the process. The Bees amassed an impressive 50-15 overall record, advancing to the NJCAA Division III National Championship. Garza’s guidance helped lead the program to a DAC regular season championship and finished as the NJCAA Division III South Central District runner-up. Garza helped develop two NJCAA All-Americans in pitcher Marcus Peters and first baseman Payton Poole, while also being named the American Baseball Coaches Association NJCAA Assistant Coach of the Year. Garza’s coaching career began in 2022, becoming the Head Coach for the Charlottesville Tom Sox for one season, winning the Valley Baseball League championship in the process. This parlayed into a coaching role with his alma mater, the University of Texas at Dallas, serving as a volunteer assistant for the Comets from 2022-23.
